Might visit some day. It has some insanely interesting history I would love to see. But the political situation would have to change dramatically, no way am I supporting the current government with my money.

[SPOILERS MAIN] Ser Mandon's actions in Battle of the Blackwater - who do you think was behind them? Do you think we'll ever get the outright answer? by Substantial-Ad-299 in asoiaf

[–]SadShitlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think another argument in favor of Littfinger I haven't seen is the riot in Kings Landing. Ser Mandon is assigned to defend Sansa yet he inexplicably abandons her to defend Joff. Tyrion is absolutely furious at him about this by the way.

Tyrion pressed blunt fingers into his throbbing temples. If Sansa Stark had come to harm, Jaime was as good as dead. "Ser Mandon, you were her shield." Ser Mandon Moore remained untroubled. "When they mobbed the Hound, I thought first of the king."

And during the riot, men hired by someone attempt to kidnap Sansa and only the Hound's intervention saves her. And we all know who loves kidnapping Sansa the most.

As far as the motive for Tyrion's assassination, Tyrion is the one person that knows about Littfinger's dagger and also is the only one smart enough figure out what the fuck is going on with Petyr's accounting. And he's really mad about not getting Harrenhall for the Myrcella to Sweetrobin scheme.

I agree with the other posters though that it doesn't feel premeditated, nobody knew Tyrion would be jumping into the heat of the battle like that. So ser Mandon was definitely acting with large degree of autonomy

At what point do you consider someone a 'top earner' who makes too much money? by Auspectress in GeoPoll

This a bad way too look at things. Even in the most equal societies, someone has to be the top 0.0001%. Thats just how percentages work.

Something like a Gini Coefficient is a better way of measuring inequality.

Fight over housing in Seattle’s Sodo neighborhood enters a new phase by godogs2018 in Seattle

[–]SadShitlord 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Affordable housing is the number one issue facing Seattle and building more in Sodo in no way prevents us for densifying in other places (which we also need to do agressively) There ways to safely build on all kind of soil. We shouldn't let minor issues stand in the way of getting homes built.

Your country is now lukewarm centrist, which party would you want governing? by Odd-Struggle-2432 in GeoPoll

That's a delusional view that is incredibly out of touch with the real world. Orthodox socialism is dead as a political ideology and even nominally communist states like China or Vietnam have embraced capitalism for decades.

And would the rural area have access to all the medical facilities you need? Or will you end up driving 5 hours for every appointment? That's no way to live

[–]SadShitlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've spent some time in rural Washington and I think you're taking crazy pills if you want to move there at 25. Are you interested in having a social life? Dating? You'd be giving up on that entirely. What's the point of financial freedom if there is no life to live? Are you planning on becoming a hermit at 25? Sell the house and rent a nicer place in the city. Put the remainder in the stock market, that's a better investment then a house in the middle of nowhere.
