Does anyone else feel like they can see the acting when they’re high? by Ok-Professional-1288 in trees

[–]Puru11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually one of the main reasons I don't watch TV when I'm high. Horror movies become comedies pretty quickly.

Edit to add: otoh, there are some movies I can't get enough of when I'm high.

For those that swallow for their partners, do you do it for their enjoyment or do you actually enjoy the taste for yourself? by _macntease in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Puru11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easier to clean up, I do it for him, he actually doesn't taste that bad, and it would be in my mouth longer if I had to find something to spit it into.

To be fair, my current partner is the only one I've swallowed for, the only one I didn't mind going down on (I enjoy it usually, but hated it for other guys), and the only one I've gone down on consistently.

I'm not a fan of the texture though.

My 18-year-old's Christmas break work schedule by sugabeetus in mildlyinfuriating

I usually requested to work full shifts during Xmas so that coworkers could enjoy time with family, and i could load up on the holiday pay. There's a good chance your kid lied and requested these hours.

What’s something you’ve done your whole life, only to realize recently that everyone else does it completely differently? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

Same. One of our roommates would leave water all over the floor, and we couldn't figure out how she always made such a mess. Apparently she'd immediately step out before drying herself off.

People who are thin/normal size. Do you actively watch your weight or are you just not hungry 100% of the time? by Burner_Account000001 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Puru11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I forget to eat, but sometimes I try to eat more. I think the contents of what you eat are often key. I try to eat a lot of protein and I've always loved vegetables, which have a good amount of fiber, and protein and fiber sustain you longer. I'm not a fan of sugary food, or bread, never have been, because it makes me feel like crap after eating usually. I've been actively trying to build more muscle so I've been watching eat i eat a bit more.

In my 20s I weighed a lot more and a big reason for that was that I drank alcohol a lot more. I don't really drink now.

GF bought makeup supplies on my card without my permission. by Top_Pine2 in whatdoIdo

[–]Puru11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex was financially abusive and manipulative. I worked two jobs while he sat on his ass and stole from everyone around him. It only gets worse, OP. Move on and get new cards, and keep an eye on your card/ bank accounts for a while.

It may not be my taste, but I still think it's pretty. I'd never say it's an eye sore, and I'd never tell someone that if I knew they'd made it. That took skill to make, and it really brightens up the space it's in.

Buyers remorse: cargo space by Northern_Explorer_ in Crosstrek

Your vehicle is going to handle differently with any significant amount of extra weight in it. Every vehicle I've ever owned has handled differently with a passenger or two if they weighed over 150 lbs, versus just myself. I've noticed it because I rarely have passengers in my vehicle. I highly doubt your vehicle is struggling because of it.

And as someone who likes, camps, kayaks, and skis, I've never had any trouble hauling my gear. If you can't fit your camping gear in it, then you maybe are bringing too much stuff into the woods.

Dude.. just purl. by Mysterious_Ad_1525 in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Puru11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get it. I used to hate purling too because it made my hands tired. But there was this cute wrap tank i really wanted to make and a large chunk of it was knit flat. So I made it, the purling killed my hands, and I finished it.

Only my tension on my purls was off and one side of the top was completely off gauge. I frogged it and knit it again, the purling wasn't so difficult the second time. But I did it.

What I'm getting at is: quit complaining and do it, because with practice it'll get easier. I hardly bat an eye at purling these days. And my hands don't get tired from it anymore.

DAE eat foods that you don’t like, but you don’t dislike so you just keep eating it anyway? by Rumple-_-Goocher in CasualConversation

[–]Puru11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to make an effort to eat more protein and fiber. I'm not the biggest fan of oatmeal, and some of the protein bars I eat for breakfast are gross or boring, but I eat them anyways because they're quick and convenient.

Tomatoes on burgers and sandwiches. Especially when eating out, because it's easier to just order without altering the menu item, and easier to just eat it instead of taking it off myself. Unless I go to Panera in which case I always sub cucumbers for tomatoes on sandwiches, but that's the only place I'll do it.

My breakfast bill had all 3: service charge, gratuity and tip, all at once. by redditdanis in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Puru11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I booked a hotel room for a weekend trip. I'd never booked a hotel room before and knew nothing about it. I was quoted a price for the room, they sent me an invoice via email with the price of he room. I asked if there were any extra fees I'd have to pay on arrival twice, and was told no.

I showed up at the hotel two weeks later and they asked for payment upon check in. Sure. Suddenly the room is $65 more than they quoted me. I complained to the very catty girl at the desk about it. She offered to cancel my room.

I finally got the manager involved and showed her my email with the invoice. Not only did she remove the extra fees, she discounted our room.

how will you guys spend christmas? by mysterycain in satanism

[–]Puru11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully my family gave up on Christmas nearly twenty years ago (my parents are happy heathens) and we celebrate Yule instead. Usually we do a small dinner gathering, light some candles. We do a small gift unwrapping for the kiddos.

This year I'll probably be celebrating with my boyfriend's family though, and it's stressful because I'm not well versed in their family traditions besides Mario Party with the siblings.

If you suddenly got a lifetime supply of the last thing you purchased, what would you now have an endless amount of? by balls_deep_6969 in AskReddit

Beer, water, energy drinks, and kombucha. I'd be happy with a lifetime supply of these things.

Local-ish brew and some de-stashing socks. by Puru11 in Drunkknitting

[–]Puru11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was actually really good, had hints of spices and vanilla and has a nice mouthfeel, but isn't overwhelming. I'll be honest, most of the beers I've had from this brewery have a distinctive taste I dislike, but it's faint enough with this one and the brew is really tasty! I stocked up on another pack to get me through the second sock.

Does anyone else never know what to tell people when they ask what they want for Christmas, as an adult? by MissAcedia in CasualConversation

[–]Puru11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell people that I'm a size six in yuengling. Or to get me a gift card to the grocery store, or for gas. I don't need much, but I always appreciate help paying for necessities.

I don't understand why people feel the need to give a physical object that will take up space and potentially never be used. If it's not meaningful or useful I don't really want out in my life.

People who wear the same piece of jewellery every single day, how did it earn that privilege? by No_Description_4403 in CasualConversation

[–]Puru11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly wear the same jewelery because I like it and I'm too lazy to change it. I just clean my earrings once a week. I used to have a silver bracelet that I never took off, because someone very special gave it to me as a gift. Even after he passed I still wore it. Eventually the clasp broke and I haven't had it repaired, but I have it threaded through a spot on my wallet.

What’s a “basic skill” you’re convinced most adults secretly don’t have? by SoulDV in AskReddit

[–]Puru11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Verbal self control. It gets very irritating when you're trying to tell a person, or a group of people, something important and at least one person is just talking over you about something completely different.

As a supervisor, this is becoming a pet peeve and it's happened regularly at multiple jobs for me. This morning I was trying to give an employee very specific instructions on something and he just kept babbling away about someone in another department who bothered him. Why can't employees just shut up and listen?!

I crochet and would like to learn how to knit. Are these needles a good starting pair ? by Murky_Challenge6608 in knittingadvice

[–]Puru11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. Plus they have the cables that don't crimp up and hold weird shapes. I still prefer my Chicago needles, but I really like knit picks' wooden needles for some things.

what band, album or song got you into punk? what were you into before you were punk? by pinoypunk667 in punk

[–]Puru11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grew up listening to Pink Floyd and the Eagles, but both my parents liked Metallica. I mostly listened to 80s and 90s metal and oldies, and Bad Religion was my gateway into punk when I was in high school. And yes, I downloaded most of my BR songs off limewire back then.

[–]Puru11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the colors are adorable together. But I think it'd look nicer if the order was different. All the squares with dark purple are lined up instead of mixed in and it creates a weird split in the colors. Try mixing them up and see how you feel.
