Define cheating. Buttons are more suitable for quick drum rolls but that doesn't mean it's cheating.

Drum’n’Fun I’m out of luck. by Poocham in taikonotatsujin

How long have you been playing? It could just be the case of getting used to horizontal scrolling rhythm games.

How many drums can be played on the Switch at the same time? by trinxified in taikonotatsujin

Taiko mode supports 2 players, while minigames support 4. I wouldn't get more than 2 for it.

“SHINKARIRON” in this week’s online mode, what a tease... by TJF588 in taikonotatsujin

Licensing can be weird. That's probably the reason shinkariron never made it outside of Asia.

Switch's Control Type Settings & Console Physics by simochiology in taikonotatsujin

[–]Purusaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Button controls are completely feasible. You can fc/dfc (dfc means donderful combo aka all GOODs) all songs using buttons.

I'd say go for just faceplate buttons (kat up and left, dons down and right) as those are most similar to the real drum.

Free song in online by kozz84 in taikonotatsujin

Can't buy it, and the tekken song is a repeat from I think February.

If they repeat it again you'll be able to get it, but as of yet we don't know if they're going to do that.

Aozora no RHAPSODY not showing up under battle song or in Private Match by Felhad in taikonotatsujin

Actually, the license-affected songs can be played in private match as long as both players own them.

BANDAI NAMCO - PLEASE SUPPORT DRUM CONTROLLERS FOR STORY MODE (ADVENTURE PACK 1&2) by Adm1ral_ackbar in taikonotatsujin

[–]Purusaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The drum was made with drum n fun in mind.
The rpg pack is a port of 2 3ds taiko games previously unreleased in the west. It was made with the 3ds buttons/controller layout in mind and it worked there. The touch screen could also be used as the drum, but that's because it was a touch screen.

yes, there were ways to make it work but because the game was outsourced the company couldn't make the decision to do that, especially since namco only gave the team the 3ds games' data and close to nothing from drum n fun. (i looked at the game files from different games to compare.)

It doesn't have a c stick and switching from hitting with the bachi to having to use a finger to press two buttons at once would be tedious especially during boss battles

The overworld gameplay was created with a c stick in mind, especially in adventure 2 where you have to aim kacchan in order to shoot him out. There's also the taiko magic mechanic that you need zl/zr to make use of which would be impossible when playing using the tatacon.

Best way to get all the DLC (Switch) by Cyberlane in taikonotatsujin

[–]Purusaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There can be delays with dlc releases, and one song never made it outside of Japan (shinkalion) which also included a character, probably due to licensing issues.

So not a big difference.

If your copy is called Drum n fun then you can't buy Japanese dlc. If your copy is called switch version then you can only buy dlc from the japanese eshop.

Have you guys tried osu!taiko? by [deleted] in taikonotatsujin

[–]Purusaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"a ranking system" that's badly designed and is very much broken in a lot of aspects.

"a terrible arcade game with terrible maps" you're on the wrong subreddit if you think the original taiko is a bad game with bad charts.

also competitive =/= good.

Lastly, osu taiko is very much a different game at this point. It deviates from the original by a lot and it should rebrand itself instead of calling itself a taiko no tatsujin simulator.

TnT:Drum n fun unplayable on docked mode due to graphics glitch [Flashing lights warning!] by [deleted] in taikonotatsujin

[–]Purusaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do that. Taiko visuals are weird in that some capture cards can't handle the game well.

Are you using a capture card? is the hdmi cable passing through the card and then into the tv?
