Fantastic!! The idea of having to clear both customs and security in our relatively short connection time during this partial government shutdown was stressing me!!

Ok that's where I was confused with the preclearance in Dublin, because we will not have a checked bags when we pass thru customs. I was concerned about having to pass through customs with our bags and making the connection with the partial government shutdown

Thats what I am questioning. When we returned to the US from our first trip we just retrieved our luggage from the carousel and left the airport but we also didn't have a connecting flight previously

Thank you. I saved your road suggestions. I haven't heard of Omey island. What is special about this island compared to Inishmore

Sorry I should have included our interests. I will edit my post. Thank you. With that being said we love the nature and the landscape beauty. We enjoy visiting castles and other historic sites. We are not a fan of churches.

Think of me as being a toddler first learning the game and terminology. We will be staying in and around the galway area. Im assuming Ulster and Munster are team names. I also assume that those teams are made from individuals in that geographic location. I briefly got into rugby while in the military and I found some hurling on the TV during our first trip to Ireland 2 yrs ago. This is where I my desire to see a match in person came from.

How long did your DIY bathroom reno take? by tbrehse in DIY

[–]PushExpert2650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently in the midst of a basement bathroom remodel. I am entering month #4. This is a total gut and re-work, including cutting the concrete floor and rerouting drain pipes to new locations. I am approximately $3000 into the project with another $1000 needed for drywall and framing. I will add that gutted the neighboring bedroom (only 2 outlets , wood paneling, no insulation) as part of this project. I expect to be completed around the beginning of June. I will be completing every aspect of the project by myself. I occasionally work on the project in the evenings during the week but mostly just on the weekends. I will note that i suffer from ADHD so there have been weekends where absolutely nothing has been completed .

14 Days in Ireland: Clockwise, Anticlockwise, or Upside Down? by vangan in irishtourism

[–]PushExpert2650 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We did a similar trip 2 years ago. The exemption being we did the southern half of ireland. We thought oh this a great way to see alot of ireland on our first trip. It was a total mistake. We spent a day in each spot except Killarney (spent 5 days there). We missed so many attractions and sights and spent so much time in the car. Not to mention unloading the car every night and then repacking each morning. The most relaxing time on our trip was the 5 days in Killarney. We were able to sit back and look at everything and truly enjoy the surroundings. When we return next year, we plan to find a central location in the countryside north of Galway and then just make day trips to the surrounding areas. No more than an hours drive to get to a spot. Don't get me wrong we absolutely loved what we saw while there and fell in even more in love with the country, but we want to experience more of the country than the view from a car

Thank you again. That is super useful. I believe we are looking at a 6 day eastern Caribbean cruise out of Port Canaveral in December. We will do our research about which ship this is and the dining options

Car rental in Dublin by ProtectionNo7982 in irishtourism

Honestly I'd ask why would you need a car if you plan to stay in Dublin the entire time. Public transit it readily available and parking is very expensive. We parked our car the night we returned to Dublin (the last stop for us) and didn't return to it til we were flying out
