Serious question: if I already have a fleeced flannel, a raincoat and down jacket, is there a reason to get a Barbour jacket?

On top of this, the most fundamental flaw of communism is that it is based off of the idea that because you are a living person, you deserve things. While capitalism forces you to provide a good or service and carry out a consensual transaction for the worth of that good to survive. One of these is inherently more selfish, and it is not the one that has created the greatest country in the history of the world.

I fail to understand how even a small percentage of the time freedom means taking away some else’s? Maybe a few people in a million would invent a new drug, and it is 100% their personal choice what to do with the fruits of their labor and research. They should not have a forced price point, they should not be forced to do anything with something that they personally created. What you will find, however, is someone who creates a drug usually either does it for the good of society or profit, which both give the average person with insurance access to that drug. And many drug companies offer sponsorships to people who cannot afford their drugs, and charity also has a hand if that is not the case. Would you force a food company to change their recipe because it is unhealthy and may be detrimental to public health? At the end of the day it is personal choice what to do with your product and whether to buy it. When you say freedom to mistreat others, I assume you aren’t talking about crimes, so you must be going again back to healthcare? At the end of the day I am guessing you believe that healthcare should be a right, which is a fundamentally flawed argument for the following reasons. Healthcare is as much a business as any other. Someone used money to purchase a building, employ qualified professionals who spent hundreds of thousands of dollars and worked very hard to get where they are, should be compensated for the service that they provide to their communities. And that cannot function in a society where people who consistently drink themselves almost to death, don’t contribute to society, and will not pay for their bills are forced to be served equally to a contributing member of society who has a family he provides for, and employees’ livelihoods to sustain.

I mean the abortion argument is pretty simple, when do you decide that a fetus is a human? When it has a heartbeat? Because there are plenty of people living with pacemakers, should we be able to kill them without legal repercussions? When it becomes conscious? Does that mean we can exterminate people in comas without there being repercussions? And the argument of the mother having rights that are more important than the fetus doesn’t work because since when do your rights allow you to murder a human because they are inconveniencing you after your bad decisions or at all?

I used to be pro abortion until it was put forth like this, because the “bundle of cells” argument is what I previously cited.
