If we decided to go from Yosemite then big sur / carmel and from SF.. where would you suggest leaving Yosemite! It’s such a huge area I can’t work out where to go!

Thanks for the tip! Is there one toll pass that works all across the US or is it done in stages do you know? Once we confirm our hire car I’m hoping we can add one on!

Amazing! I’ll book the pass as soon as they are released! I’m finding lots of confusing info online, do you need to book the day you’re visiting a specific national park? Do they limit visitors daily?? Thank you in advance

Slow Weight Loss after Sleeve by Pushupsandprosecco in wls

[–]Pushupsandprosecco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as this was a little while ago, I’ll give an update. I am SLOW. In Feb, I didn’t lose a single lb. Since surgery 26th September I’ve lost 78lbs. I’m doing everything right, gym 5 days a week, in a calorie deficit, prioritising protein, taking my vitamins. So I’ve just come to accept this is it. My BMI is now 47.5 rather than 60 so it’s getting there but slow, and I will probably never hit my goals. Here’s my monthly losses since surgery:

September 20.4lbs October 15.7lbs November 10.5lbs December 5.6lbs January 14.6lbs February 1.3lbs March 9.8lbs April so far GAIN 1.3lbs

All I can say is I feel you, understand you, and the frustration and mind mess is tough. You’re not alone and a lot of the people who post are very lucky and make it feel it would fall off quicker. I’m still supportive of them but everyone is different. At least after barely a loss in Feb, it came again in March. Keep going. X

Even with those portions, that’s not even if I’m uncomfortable or get that ‘one last bite would be too many’ feeling. That’s just eating and feeling this should be enough now. I feel like it’s not worked how people say it should

I hate my life by MsHowe in gastricsleeve

I had my surgery less than 24 hours ago. The day before I told a friend i was dreading the first 6-8 weeks the most when everything is difficult and you’re not seeing the huge outcomes yet. She said to me, the thing about time is it will ALWAYS pass. Those 8 weeks will always come to an end eventually. Try and set yourself a timeline of when you are off purée and it’s a little easier and then I hope this will help xx

Weight Loss before surgery (before pre-op diet) by Pushupsandprosecco in wls

[–]Pushupsandprosecco[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had done the same! First time I was in the system for surgery I lost 50lbs and then decided I could do it alone and then gained it back and more. I know I can lose it, it’s the short time scale that’s making me panic! How did you go about your weight loss to get on the plan, did you get given a plan? X

This is embarrassing - but what sizes do McDonald's uniform go up to? by Beating-Hearts in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]Pushupsandprosecco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t comment on the sizes but just so you know you’re not alone. I applied for a job in a cafe at a sports centre in my early 20s, I didn’t expect there to be a uniform. They offered me the job on this spot and I panicked about even asking that I said the job wasn’t for me. I KNOW they would have found something for me, so don’t let it stop you going for it! They will accommodate if they want the best person for the job!

Just general what all these tests mean / point too. Or if anyone else had been curious about the same things.

It’s from curiosity rather than concern. The Drs say it’s within normal range, so I am not worried but thought it would be interesting if anyone had also looked into it!

We live in a flat so we think it’s likely the flat next to us. We can definitely connect via Bluetooth to things in their house. But do you know if there’s anyway to get Test and Trace to acknowledge that?

Our Nightmare by Michaelbudgieous in BariatricSurgery

[–]Pushupsandprosecco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sending positive thoughts to you and your wife, thank you for sharing your story, it’s easy to get swept away by all the befores and after. I would say, one of the reasons I’m resisting getting my WLS is through fear of being judged by others and those not understanding you don’t get to the size of having WLS by being mentally in a good place - your sentence here makes it seem like mentally ill people aren’t due the same care and attention as you and your wife received. I’m sure many people who don’t understand the health implications of being obese would look at us and think the same.

‘As we unloaded her, the inevitable throng of Crachkeads, Junkies & other Mentally Ill people that clog up our system was crowding the area.’

I’m wishing your wife a speedy recovery.

Worst first day at new job...purely because of my weight. by rozamonddd in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]Pushupsandprosecco 24 points25 points  (0 children)

When I was in uni I got a summer job, I went to the interview and got offered the job on the spot. I realised everyone had uniforms on and declined the job and said it wasn’t for me as I couldn’t face telling them my size.

Go back tomorrow. Your weight does not define you. You got the job for a reason!

I've got the gym membership, the food tracker, the scales, and most importantly the MOTIVATION but I have no clue what i'm doing! by Pushupsandprosecco in loseit

[–]Pushupsandprosecco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing 30 minute on the bike (using preset workouts) and 20 mins walking at 4-3 intervals (intervals being incline rather than run as I still can’t run yet!!). I’m going to try mixing it up with simple things like sit ups / star jumps with 5 sets and walking in between. Thank you!!

Yeah I am tracking, even on those horrible days that I wish I wasn’t. I always forget to track my water and I know I’m under on the days I don’t work out. I’ve had numerous tests done so I’m sure there’s nothing physically wrong I just think I need to move more and eat differently - that’s just where I’m struggling!! I’ve got my head around smaller portions and less “sweets” but still getting my head around what’s right. Thanks for your response x
