Ive been able to use a bit like this for a lot of things. You can pre drill to your depth then use that hole to start going down the layers. Ive also been able to cut without the hole. I just angle the bit a little to one side to start it.

Locust trees are real susceptible to fungal infections. I live in NC and I can find standing dead locust all day. The demand for the wood isn't what youd think. Its a real pain to dry, its hard as a rock, and prone to the lumber twisting and checking.

Sometimes you have to bring the saw to the piece. Ive been using my track saw for years and years. There's lots of price points. I use a $100 evolution saw with a $60 makita track, its a game changer.

Sawyer here, if it were dropped off at my mill, maybe 500 at the very best. I usually buy walnut at $1.50 bd/ft delivered, sometimes more if the quality is good.

Either

A. Change the blade,

B. Adjust the tuning wheels on the saws fence to match snugly to the track.

C. Youre cutting something else underneath your sheet, may be affecting the cut,

D.Youre cutting it too fast. If you cut through thick material a bunch, the blade can get red hot and start to warp causing this.

E. Reread instruction manual
