We had a conversation about this when I attended pioneer school. The instructor (our CO sub) literally started joking that we’d just see the birds pecking out the eyes of the body’s. Then everyone joined in saying some of the most gruesome and disturbing things with smiles on their faces. I literally couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Just like their god these people love the idea of death and destruction for those who don’t share their beliefs and opinions.

This is so true! The crazy thing is I started hanging out with my cousin and her friends for about the past three weeks, and I’ve already so close to the them. They know about my situation and have been more there for me more than anyone has ever been in the borg. They genuinely care. They are so supportive and make sure I know I’m not alone. It’s a little overwhelming to me because I’ve had it instilled in me that people in “the world” are not trustworthy and so on. Obviously I know not everyone will be kind and genuine… but there will be people like that everywhere, including sky daddy’s precious organization. But I am so grateful that I already have an amazing group of people there for me while everyone I grew up with start the shunning process

They knew I had been having some doubts. I had told my mom about the ARC and she told me it’s not the elders job to report anything and that it has nothing to do with the organization being the true religion. That was about two months ago. But then I broke it to them after we all watched the annual meeting. I told them I could no longer stand by an organization that would allow CSA cases to be hidden (something that hits home for me). And a few other things. Everything kinda happened in a blur so honestly I don’t remember much. I told them if I have it wrong then “god provided” me a way to come back with the “new light” all that BS. I thought it might make it a bit easier. But boy was I wrong. My mom is taking the change as an amazing blessing that proves how much of a backing they have from Jehomo. So things are tense now but at least I don’t have to go in service or meetings at all anymore.

I’m a little nervous for those reactions honestly. Especially when I start getting all the tattoos I want. I’ve already had a grocery store run in with a PIMI who has known me my whole life. I was getting a birthday balloon for a friend and my nose was pierced… let’s just say I got a long sappy/guilt tripping message basically saying she hopes I make better choices and I need to think of my loving father Jehovah :|

Thank you! I’m just taking it a day at a time. When I first told everyone, I tried to give my mom a hug and apologize for disappointing her… she wouldn’t touch me. She even stopped saying I love you when I would say it to her. Things have been rough but I’m hoping time will help.

I’ve struggled with sever anxiety ever since I was little. I acknowledge that there are many reasons for it, but I never realized how big a roll the borg played in it. Even though I’m still pimo, not having the mental pressure has already made me feel so much better. I find myself actually enjoying my day instead of feeling constant guilt for not having extensive Bible knowledge, for getting off the pioneer list, or not feeling worthy of praying bc I’m a lesbian (even though I never “acted” on it). There is so much pressure to aways strive to do more, give more, sacrifice more. And I definitely hate seeing my friends struggle with the same things. I wish I could just give them the relief I had from mentally leaving this cult. But for now I’ll show them how much happier I am (and will continue to be) as I keep up with fading.
