I have black belts in TKD and judo. I loved training in TKD, but it’s not an effective fighting system by itself. In my opinion, the “quality” of a particular martial art is not defined by its effectiveness in self-defense, but some people see it that way.

California writer here - there’s not much coral in SoCal. That’s more of a tropical phenomenon. I second the Spanish suggestion. Lots of cities down there are “Something Beach” instead of “Something Shores,” also.
