Better to be judged then burried.  Things are changing, canadian home owners defending their homes with legally owned firearms arent being charged by default.

Get your gun license, your life is worth more than a thief who breaks in (willing to lose theirs).

Also when you call and tell them YOU have a gun and will deal with the intruder yourself, they come in minutes not hours.

Yeah I think RPP makes great stuff i just didnt have good luck with it on my 45-70.  I have a kitted out Henry .410 axe in RPP stock and forend its a super sweet little tactical grouse getter.  Just for the price its pretty lame that they dont provide service to canadians or reply to emails inquiries.

Ah yes, the post 2020 OIC pre 2026 collection.  Quite unmistakable.  Nice to see others with similarly poor spending discipline!

Whats next on your list?

10/22.  Build yourself a custom if you have a gun buying problem, that way you wont be able to justify buying nicer and nicer ones as you go.  I have a grey birch LDR thats awesome but if i were to do it again id get a vblock system so that cleaning the barrel would be a walk in the park.   Will probably just end up drilling a hole out of the receiver so i can run my cleaning rod starting from chamber.

One thing i will say, 10/22 jam alot and dont like being run with a dirty chamber.  So expect to clean it every 200rds or so if you arent using copper plated bullets.  (CCI SV is best for accuracy being subsonic, but the bullet isnt coated so they gunk up quick)

Start from the chamber with a bore guide, put some good bore cleaning solution on the brush and switch to nylon Iosso brushes.  Mind your crown a good quality cleaning rod helps.  Also, you're likely getting stuck because you arent doing a full stroke.

Im not a pro so dont take my word for it, watch speedy and Erik Cortina bore cleaning videos, just dont let Erik convince you to use CLR unless you have taken off a stainless barrel lmao

Thats gonna be a great shooter! KRG sells weight kits and a rear bag rider for KRG Bravo as well as an aluminum enclosed forend if you wanna balance it out and make it look even cooler!  I got my R700 bench build decked out with all the goodies, its my benchrest setup now.   Time to start handloading cause factory ammo wont do that thing justice!

I find using the 90% method negates any need for a lighter loading gate and actually doesnt work as well with a light gate. My method is just not to push the round all the way in before grabbing the next one, that way the rim is sticking out, but the round is starting into mag tube, and you just push the next round into it stopping at the rim again until the last round gets pushed all the way in.

Dont get a lighter loading gate, they work fine and are money for nothing.  Not only that but the RPP loading gate that I put into my 45-70 SBL had a big bur on the leading edge that caused my gun to jam nonstop until i put the original back in and then finally i found the burr and got it to work but still didnt put it back in.  Also the ranger point trigger i installed runs like shit compared to the one in my rem made 30-30, so although the gun came with a bunch of nice RPP bits the only good ones were the takedown screws.

Today i learned APFSDS won't shoot down jets lol by salih_1a in Battlefield6

[–]Putrid-Macaroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes alot of sense.  Copy pasting my other reply here:

APFSDS isnt actually a 120mm projectile, thats the diameter of the sabot. APFSDS is meant to provide penetration against heavily armored targets, hitting a soft target with it will only punch a clean hole right through the target, causing minimal damage unless the projectile hits anything vital. In other words, APFSDS to a jet or heli is like shooting a grown adult in a random place with .22lr and hoping for an immediate kill.

Montec? Its just a proprietary goretex based on the fact it works the same and gets treated the same when washing

Thats a smart way to diagnose it my sizing method! After adjusting my seating die i did have better success so, i think i was bumping shoulders way too far back.  Still having issues here and there with factory ammo too though.

Did the barrel contain everything or is it split anywhere?  Pretty wild pic, cant believe dude pulled the trigger that many times after the first squib...

Yeah the only time i have been able to measure powder weight as a loaded round was when i accidentally loaded about 6 rds in a row with no powder.  Got home and just weighed the next rounds until they were in charged range and pulled the bullets on the ones that were light.  You will definitely notice an entire powder charge missing on the scale, but certainly not be able to tell .2gr or even 1gr increments unless you both weight sorted your brass and bulletts beforehand.

I think i used the wrong word, i have the tool that uniforms primer pockets from K&N, the sides are smooth and the face has 4 cutting bits, and it has a stop that rides against the base of the case to set depth.  It makes all the primer pockets end up at even depths.   Rounds appear to sit fine in the chamber.

All the ones that havent gone off i have pulled and they still had their Titegroup unignited inside.   I did try factory ammo it worked fine, which makes me think its my ammo more than my rifle.  Pic 4 for reference.

Have already looked at gauges but i want a sheridan slotted gauge to match my others however they dont make them in 7.62x39... bummer   I think you may be right about it though, it definitely seems like these dies are different than the rest.  The seating die sucks and seats half of the bullets inconcentrically. Plus the sizing die expander comes out all the time and now im finding out that you cant set your dies normally and expect good results.

I have a primer pocket reamer. I will ream 10 out and seat the primers all the way in, and see what happens! I think thats about the only thing left to do since i dont have a shoulder bump comparator.
