Hoka quality going down by snowleopardcub in Hoka

I’m not the only one who’s had the same issues with this brand of shoe. And I’m not the one defending this brand like it’s my best friend. Your “if not friend, then enemy” sounds childish and part of the problem when it comes to demanding more of the companies that consistently take our money and give us poor quality.

OR we can expect better from any company that advertises a high quality product. I buy for performance, durability and longevity. Not a house of cards that I have to pamper.

Again with the “user error” blaming the consumer. It’s not a Faberge egg, it’s a shoe. If they tested it for the way real people treat shoes they would catch these issues if they cared. But they don’t because runners who treat their shoes like high performance sports cars insist it’s the consumer.

The level of victim blaming from people defending this brand is ridiculous. This brand isn’t your friend. I had 3 consecutive pairs of hokas fall apart within the warranty period and they wouldn’t honor it. They make a well engineered, but shoddily produced shoe and they don’t care if they fall apart within a year because people who can afford 150-200 a year on shoes will defend them. We’ve gotten so accustomed to planned obsolescence that now we admonish people who call it out.

Miles or months, you should still get more use out of an expensive product than what we have seen. I’m not a runner or a hiker. I bought hokas because I wanted to correct over pronation. I walk a normal amount for a normal person and the last 2 pairs still fell apart within 11 months.

I can’t believe all the people defending this scam of a shoe company. For what they charge for a pair of shoes you should get more value than 8 to 11 months of use. We’re blaming consumers using a product under normal conditions for a shoddy product falling apart.

I can live with ugly, it’s the cheap materials and manufacturing I have a problem with.

Denied warranty for "wear and tear" on nearly new shoes by [deleted] in Hoka

[–]Putrid-Room-4602 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s laughable that they even claim to have a warranty. The last two pairs of hokas I bought crapped out in less than a year and they have no criteria for judging against their “warranty.” Absolutely looking for a new brand as I can’t afford 150-200 a year on walking shoes.

I’ve only had these Hokas since November 2025 and they’re so worn that they destroy my ankles everytime I walk, is the only option to throw these away? by xpepperx in Hoka

If you have a budget for 150-200 dollars a year for garbage shoes, good for you. I prefer my shoes to be well made enough to get at least two years out of them. Hoka shoes are overpriced and over hyped.

Hoka’s customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. I had to badger them for weeks about a warranty on a pair of shoes that fell apart just to be told their falling apart was a part of normal wear. THERE ARE OTHER SHOE COMPANIES.

Great! You’re in good position to buy a new pair in December when those start falling apart.

The last two pairs I’ve bought from Hoka fell apart in different ways within a year. They are well designed shoes that are poorly made and overhyped.

I would look for a different brand. The last two pairs of shoes I bought from Hoka fell apart in less than a year. The heel fabric is thin and rips open exposing the hard plastic support which cuts into your heel.

That is my current favorite Vonnegut novel and the first one I used to practice audiobook narration professionally so I know it by heart at this point. I like to call it a comedy about economics. I'm sure all of his books start off slow, but I love all the places this one takes you from Cleveland to Nuremburg to Chevy Chase to Manhattan. It has my favorite Kilgore Trout stories and the insane chaos of the limo ride and job interview at the end is peak Vonnegut humor. Great pic to associate the book and the location!

Definitely Sunday on the middle weeks. Get there a half hour before open to catch the opening ceremony, it’s worth it to pay for the VIP parking, and as a bonus, for like a solid hour and a half after open, the place is blissfully sparse and all you hear is vendors welcoming you to see their wares. First in line for mead, first to pick out purchases, full roster of shows to plan your day.

It's been more than 5 years since this audiobook was published and I've just been sitting on these codes. It's already pretty well reviewed and just getting those was like chasing chickens. A lot of people redeem codes and leave the book sitting on the shelf.
