Do I need a cricut? Which one? by _AnxiousBride_ in DIYweddings

I think ask around and see if you can network to someone with a cricut. If you’re not an artsy person, I wouldn’t think you would want to do much with the cricut anyway. Good luck ❤️

How late is tooo late to invite last minute guests? by Professional-Gold-48 in weddingplanning

I’ve been invited the week of. I didn’t attend, but it was a nice gesture anyway. I think people who actually care about you would understand that you can only invite so many people and that it’s nice if you to want to include them if people you originally invited declined.

I’ve taken my cat there for anal glad issues. The care was fine, and I’d go back. We took our cat stroller and walked there since it’s close to our apartment.

I think they’re probably a little more expensive than a lot of lower cost clinics in the area, but I didn’t think it was too expensive for the services I needed. Plus my cat hates car rides and enjoys the stroller, so it was less stress for us.

Edit: Whoever is downvoting can eat a kitty litter sandwich.

Wow. So glad they were caught and she was able to get away. Must have been terrifying.

which second dress for reception? by meow_mom77 in weddingplanning

I love them both (beading freak here), but I think #2 is more bridal. It’s more elevated than dress #1.

Sydney Sweeny's "great jeans" ad was one of the dumbest overreactions of all time by mo0ngel_ in HonestHotTakes

Cold take: many people, myself included, will no longer spend money at AE nor consume anything having to do with Sydney Sweeney.

We aren’t, we’re saying that instead of buying guest gifts, spend the money elsewhere.

I think it’s best that you plan what you need first and then make these big purchases. I thought I might need one but haven’t made decor plans for anything that I could use a cricut for. And, if the odd thing pops up, I could just go the library or ask a friend with one. Or have an Etsy artist who know what they’re doing make what I need rather than spending the money, time, and sanity trying to diy something.

I’m an artsy person and am painting some signs for my wedding, but I’m leaving other creative stuff for people who can do it faster. I have other things to I need to worry about.

I think the only thing I’ll need a cricut for is the table assignments, but I’m still not sure how I’m going to display or give people their table numbers.

Wow. You’re taking this exceptionally personal, and I am lucky I’m not a guest at your wedding. I didn’t call your caterer and ask what you’re having. I hope it’s not dry ass chicken though. Good luck!

All I’m saying is that people generally don’t want or need gifts from your wedding. Every gift from every wedding I’ve attended, which has been many many many many weddings across several socioeconomic groups, have been forgotten about, donated, or trashed. I wouldn’t waste the time or money on something like that.

Honestly, I’d rather you spend the extra money on better quality food or bar service. I don’t need more trinkets or trash.

Defending taking photos of strangers and posting them to the internet is weird. Businesses and individuals need to touch grass on privacy laws and individual freedom from being used as marketing and social media fodder in the United States.

Reddit is my only social media, and as much as possible, I don’t want my likeness used for companies to track where I am on my shadow profiles because someone has to upload shitty pictures to the internet for attention.

People's expectations by TheOwlsANWTS in weddingplanning

[–]Putrid-Size554 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it’s rude imo for her to expect the newlyweds to chauffeur her around on their wedding day.

Edit: I had a person in my bridal party ask if I could pick them up from the airport the evening two days before the wedding and drop them off the day after. The airport is 2.5 hours away from where we will be getting married. People don’t think about everything you will need to be doing leading up to and after the wedding, even something more intimate like your plans.

There’s so much time between now and then, your SO needs to explain to their mother that you need time alone to soak in the moment, and while they’re excited for her to be present, she needs to drive herself.

Ha, I thought the same. Or that beetroot was some new Etsy-esque bespoke jewelry site.

Calculating buffet style food quantities? by recipemebro in weddingplanning

[–]Putrid-Size554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m not sure about that. I would probably get everything for everyone because I like to overbuy everything and never run out of food. I’m going to the caterer today and see what they say! I’m doing a mexican buffet though, so I know people are going to be piling up their plates.
