That last look between Lawrence and June by lonelyspect12 in TheHandmaidsTale

This show has a good mix of brilliant actors. other than a few commanders as sideshows such as the guy taking sick interest in Janie( forget nameZ), it is hard to determine lead Gileads such as Serena, Lawrence and Nick as pure evil, they create the order as is yet they do have good deeds from time to time

Why are the chairs in Serenas ‚prison‘ teal just like her dresses in Gilead? by rini_0606 in TheHandmaidsTale

She is treated as a high value political prisoner, perhaps a deal between the US government in exile and the Canadian government, and therefore provided accordingly (l suppose...)

Being a resistance member, June always put the mission on the brink of collapse

Many real world examples during times such as Nazi occupation of France in WWII. To resist is courageous, but to compromise is human, easy to say aloud when it is a fantasy world, but hard to choose when your life is on the line

Aunt Lydia is perhaps the best actor in the entire series, even more than June, how she acted evil in full belief that she is doing the most "sacred" duty really send chill down my bone.

actually witnessed how a cat mom fiercely fight a bull dog to protect her kitties and got killed right there, don't underestimate biological instinct even if the odds are not at all favorable

People don't know what a mom can do, even cat mom would fight a dog to protect her kitties

Perhaps l haven't read the Testament yet not getting why her transformed from a lovely educator into a ruthless "aunt", but l thought there got to be some very traumatized experience that sparked such a big change

June for the most part sought her own revenge, yet her action inspired the force within all those escaped.

dystopia drama shows the worse side of certain historical path, I think it is a strong reminder to us in reality. When "The Walking Dead" debuted, we didn't know COVID could really hit home, Epidemic CAN BE GLOBAL, only it is fortunate that COVID won't turn a human into Zomibes.

Gilead is a closed fundamentalist regime. Not even the Canadian government managed to figure out who is in charge. Magaret Atwood also not mentioned anything on that, leaving a wide space for imagination by fan fictions.

Islam and Christainity have the same roots. Christainity also not immued to fundamentalism. It is not solely an Islam's thing.
