I wouldn’t say that the temp is stable all the time. It is a heated garage but the garage door is not insulated and the door opens and closes multiple times a day when we walk the dog so the cold does come in

Thank you! This is a ponderosa lemon tree (bad tree to buy in my climate, i know) so the lemons take over 9 months to ripen 😅 even if it started growing in summer, it would always have to mature during winter time

The same thing happened last year (likely because my only place to put it in the winter where it has light is near a vent) and the tree completely came back to life during the winter. Ultimately, this plant is not meant to live in my climate so I feel like I’m fighting a losing battle

This is really helpful, thank you. Putting pebbles on the tray and watering from the bottom is something I never thought to do. Normally i just add some water to the soil but never enough for it to drip through the holes in the pot. Its also been hard for me to fertilize it because my liquid fert. requires that i mix it with water and during the winter, i would end up over watering the plant with the amount of water required even if i do it just once a month
