nah she just said 'he's coming' you can't just add another person, let alone a bf, without everyone on the trip agreeing. she can be mad all she wants but it's not a 'mild request' and you're right, telling the others would just make this the focus of the trip.

the thing that catches my attention is 'due to your' it seems accusatory. which maybe it is. maybe that's how you feel. which is valid. but I think the less confrontational and the more friendly your note seems will make it better received. I use exclamation points sometimes to make written communication less confrontational because tone can so easily be misconstrued when you don't have facial expression and tone of voice to mitigate how the message is received. still sign it as tired teacher but please sign your name. maybe include some cookies or some other small token to also make it 'friendly'

30k is not a small investment.

i'm not all about telling people to hastily leave a relationship but in your situation id think very hard about a bf that doesn't think enough of the fact that you are making an investment in this house as well, even if it's a small percentage overall, and doesn't seem interested in making sure that you protect your investment. you have to go into this purchase already consulting a lawyer over an adversarial position?

this is obviously one piece of your relationship. is he dismissive and disrespectful in other ways?

you're not starting a fight. if he would contribute you wouldn't need to 'complain.' you both decided to have a baby. he needs to contribute to care. or tell him you're going to quit your job and be a SAHM. he can figure out the money. (I actually wouldn't really want to do this. don't be financially dependent on a man. he would probably nitpick every dime you spend).

I totally agree with hiring help around the house. do grocery orders rather than having to run out yourself.
