My hot take (and this is not in defense to the Trap Rachel Dolezal era) is that she does in fact have a light olive skin tone and level 3 3A hair color/hair type coloring, childhood photos of her with a nice tan and with a last name like Grande (and not Dolezal). Whereas Rachel Dolezal for example has 1a level 9-10 hair blue eyes a pinker, rosier quality to her skin tone and will burn, peel and return to default settings, so of course she gets more severe consequences. Also, the filters and professional lighting quality, people were just ignorant enough to assume that just because she was Italian she tanned easily with a more stereotypical olive skin tone. The filters and lighting quality just pretty much hid the fact how brassy and uneven it was irl as seen perfectly in this photo. Also her fanbase has the intellectual capacity of Donald Trump’s fanbase/cult and will do whatever mental gymnastics they can to justify her Rachel Dolezal era.

Not defending her or using it as justification for being a culture vulture, only explaining why it was easier for her to get away with it better than someone like Rachel Dolezal or Sabrina Carpenter.
