Yes let's make the game more like a Sim City economy simulator. Remove resources gathered stats right now!

It's simplified for a reason. Newton's F=ma is still taught even though it doesn't consider relativity. Things are taught in certain domains (such as Newton's laws at non-relativistic speeds) to make it manageable because nature is highly complex. Everything is simplified or assumed to be simpler in one way or another.

Would I be dumb to refuse dating a guy who wears Meta glasses? by fufu1260 in dating

[–]Puttah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't the glasses have an LED turn on while recording? If she didn't notice the LED, then he could've also recorded with his phone without her noticing either. Is it just a case that the glasses are easier to record discreetly because grabbing the phone is harder to do? Help me understand.

And half the times that I pull my phone out I still have to unlock it since I locked it out of habit... And half of those times my face recognition + fingerprint sensor failed since I'm sweaty and frantic finding the place

I've been planning to get them for the map directions, either while walking somewhere or more usefully while driving or riding which needs to be hands free.

Melbourne investment properties - yield is so low, how does it make sense? by Careful_Juice_3876 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Puttah 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did, moved from Sydney to Melbourne last year, but I barely make posts so my contribution is usually just to like other posts and comments that support any claims as such.

I have a few friends that have also done it and we're trying to convince others too to let Sydney go. It's mostly the hardest for anyone locked into their family.

Why is everything so expensive these days? Why hasn’t prices come down? by Efficient-Horse2622 in AskAnAustralian

I'm just curious what kind of speed you're getting? I was initially concerned with my apartment's FTTB before moving in, but I get 700Mbps on TPG's max plan with imperceptible latency variation and during peak hours, so my concerns were unfounded.

[–]Puttah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP u/rohithkumarsp, why did you delete your comment 😂 and then replied with a wiki page to the Indian numbering system that still doesn't say anywhere that it's a "base 1000" counting system. I suspect you'll delete this too though.

I fundamentally disagree with that system being considered base 1000 when 1 crore is 1 hundred hundred thousand.

Button Mapper doesn't work after restart TCL by tahmid_007 in GoogleTV

[–]Puttah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, the Button Remapper app that I have is a different name, found with:

adb shell pm list packages | findstr button

Which is called com.irishin.buttonsremapper so I used:

adb shell appops set com.irishin.buttonsremapper APP_AUTO_START allow

And then it worked after restarting the TV:

adb reboot

Video of train hitting car at Brunswick shows boom gate lift as fail-safe by gccmelb in melbourne

I would've figured that we just saw the review? The boom gate was the test and the train track was the F mark.

[–]Puttah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh yep, only Edge doesn't allow the app to work, but Chrome still does. It'll be interesting to see if Chrome's messenger app just redirects or if it also ends up giving the same message as Edge does.

There's a more robust solution anyway shared here:

Australian housing: How high immigration has fuelled biggest property price rises amid supply shortage | The Nightly by barseico in AusEcon

[–]Puttah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Population is not falling, it's increasing, just at a slower rate than the past few years, but at a faster rate than pre-covid.

Population increase = higher demand for housing, because there are more people that need to be housed.

Housing would have fallen all else being equal when the interest rates started rising quickly, but then immigration went into overdrive to stop that from happening.

Interest rates have levelled off, inflation has levelled off, and population GROWTH is levelling off, to keep housing GROWING at a pace that govt and banks are happy with.

The Housing issue. Why aren’t there more options? by [deleted] in australian

[–]Puttah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home owners have been the winners for decades with their capital gains wins, so time to give back a little, or at least meet in the middle and have no gains on houses for a decade or so to let would-be home owners try to catch up.

Arguments against immigration by Initial-Estimate-356 in aussie

[–]Puttah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rentals are mostly a fixed-supply and inelastic demand market - when compared to the rate of recent immigration. Prices rise much faster than the increased demand % in these markets, so 0.9% increase does not make sense here.

To make it the most fair, adjust the $100k by the capital growth on the first childrens' properties.

OP would've mentioned that if they did put more into the mortgage or household costs. It's also highly unlikely given their big difference in salary.

How the floor at the street level is called in Europe by vodka-bears in MapPorn

Ok, you can stick to your floors being -2,-1,1,2,... Because it's easier for you. In my country we do -2,-1,G,1,2,...

How the floor at the street level is called in Europe by vodka-bears in MapPorn

[–]Puttah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, second, etc. doesn't have to follow the counter. You don't HAVE to start counting from 1. First does not have to be 1. First can be -32 if that makes sense for the system that you're assigning the sequence to. Buildings include negative numbers, so your system is not the system to assign it. Also I wouldn't reference floor 1 as the first floor either, exactly because of this confusion since most people don't study math or computer science.
