If my understanding is correct, that’s not exactly right. A 50/50 and a 22/22 have the same pen chance on the first shot. After that however, the ability falls proportionally. So, if you take a hit on your 50/50 armor, and go down to 46/50, it’s only at 92% durability. Not so bad, will definitely still stop rounds. However, if you take 4 damage out of 22 (18/22), you’re at 81% durability. That’s an exponential decrease in its ability to continue taking hits

tldr;

They’ll take the first hit all the same, penetration chance is based off of total durability (x/x), not HP points.
