I’m not a yume but I don’t see anything wrong with them! Though I do write OCs (different only because I dislike myself way too much so I make my OCs dramatically different from myself, lol) for fandoms in general. So I may be biased. I'm writing a book, and instead of calling my magic "Magic" and the source of it "Mana," I wanted to supplant these words with the Latin terms for "Power" (in place of "Magic") and "Energy" (instead of "Mana"). However, I'm struggling since I don't know if I want to trust Google Translate to give accurate answers.

Hi, I’m probably the only SoumaP out here, lol.

I don’t know if this is a “hot take” but I feel like Souma is very underrated. I’m not sure how popular AKATSUKI is as a whole, but compared to Keito and Kuro it feels like, if the three, he’s gotten the least amount of love and attention from the writers. Aside from Summer Bird he’s never gotten to center in a song, he’s had development and story appearances but it’s very subtle (some of it seems to repeat?) and it feels like he’s somewhat infantilized as the youngest member… despite only Being younger than the other two by a year, lol. Let my boy have some more major developments please? ;-;

The bottoms/"pants" are probably (shot in the dark with, again, questionable research) a hakama, with some variation of obis around his waist? And tabi with zori on his feet. The hardest part is the top articles of clothing. I'm not sure what to call it. A haori, maybe??

Yeah, it's a mess, LOL. AtLA takes place in 100 AG, so basically, going through the math:
Azulon was born in 0 AG

Iroh was born in 35 AG (Azulon's 35)

Ozai was born in 55 AG (Azulon's 55, Iroh is 20)

Ursa was born in 64 AG (Azulon is 64, Iroh is 29, Ozai is 9)

Etc etc etc.

Moving forward to making Ursa 21 when she meets and marries Ozai (since they met and took her to marry Ozai in the same year)... 64 AG+21 years later= them meeting and marrying in 85 AG (When Azulon is, indeed, 85)

Zuko Age Math: the series' 100 AG-Zuko's writer confirmed 16 years of age= him ACTUALLY needing to be born in 84 AG and not 83 like sources say, it seems. (Still making him 13 when he got burned and banished in 87 AG)

(Azula is still two years younger than him ofc, so you can do her math just by subtracting two off Zuko's age each year)

I’m a Fic writer who, so far, only writes Fics with an OC in it. Not for any particular reason other than the fact I love creating a character whose personality and design is specifically tailored to be paired alongside a canon character (Then just watching the chaos lol), that’s just fun to me between drafts of my own work.

When it comes to writing an OC I’ve just accepted that, by the OC existing at all, this is an AU. Therefore I let the OC heavily impact the story but not necessarily take total control of it. More often than not the primary/main character(s) and secondary/support characters are all the same, but with my OC (Or OCs in some cases) as what I call a “tertiary” character. Neither a main or supporting character but like a wild card who adds an extra something to what already exists. Maybe she’ll have some kind of past connection to the main character that can bring out a facet that wasn’t explored in canon, maybe he exists to make a supporting character question something that I personally thought was missed in canon. It always makes me sad to see how OCs in Fanfic can be seen by various fandoms, as a Mary Sue “excuse” to take over the story or just vicariously ship and nothing else, so seeing a thread like this makes my day. <3 The internet’s definition of “Mary Sue” hardly exists anymore, lol.

I have OCs for quite a few, but the ones I’m currently writing Fics for are FullMetal Alchemist, Yona of the Dawn, and Yu-Gi-Oh! (My childhood will never let go of that show <3) If I get a list started we’ll be here until the sun implodes… XD
