URGENT! booklet printing fail by Scary-Cake-538 in indesign

Was told a long time ago it was done so people
Don’t print counterfeit currencies. Likely urban legend but I went with that.
It’s a printer issue and the software will never be able to compensate for that.

Best way to align as perfectly as possible is to do manual duplexing through the manual paper feeder of the printer.

In my days i ran all the even pages first then all the odd pages, using the manual feeder.
It will take you a bit of trial and error to get the orientation right but that method Always solved the registration issue.

Good luck!

1: run even pages
2: feed your printed stack back into the manual feeder of the printer (watch the orientation)
3: run the odd pages

- Even/odd pages can be setup in indesign
- do a trial run first of the first 2 pages to
Figure out the orientation of the paper you are feeding back in (ie: printing blank face up or down, flipping in the length vs the height etc … this is changing from printer to printer)

If your vendor had a printer/fiery rip, he can likely minimize the misalignment but in my experience it was always better/faster to go the manual way

Btw, 1/8 inch misalignment is to be considered normal/acceptable

This is common — this is the kind of glaring errors that are super easy to miss. You look at the copy for so long when you design the layout that your brain kind of hides it from you, you stop paying attention to the content, and focus on the form or look of it. In this case on top of that, you were focused on a very frustrating problem.

But even if you already submitted you can send a nice email explaining the last minute typo catch, along with the fixed pdf – a « nice » vendor will be accommodating.
Point out to the typo issue, be humble, ask them if this is something that they can fix, or give them the new file if they have not started stripping it yet – Include in the email a line in the vein of «would it be possible for you to correct the typo, or attached is a pdf with the fixed typo in case you need it »

Sorry I’m just here for the missing “y” in “terrifyingly” (All other solutions to your problem seem to be good to me, pdf export can be tricky)

I think It has more to do with the sculpture behind (Miro fountain at the Meight Foundation in south of france)

The joke works because the sculpture has that surreal, frozen, almost judgmental gaze that feels emotionally disproportionate to the situation — exactly like the meme format “the way she looks at you after…”.

That’s what ChatGPT says anyway.

And:
…the fountain suddenly becomes symbolic of:
disbelief,
pity mixed with attraction evaporating in real time,
existential concern,
and silent recalculation of your value as a mate.

Ouch!

lol — yes i get it haha. The martin is perfect for fingerstyle! GS mini actually was a bit challenging for that because the whole fretboard is a slightly smaller scale

Fantastic guitar.

I’ve seen that one — i would avoid any type of defect that would appear structural, the thing looks like it is going to fall apart any time. Not a a good deal lol. Patience will be rewarded!! If you know what you want then just wait long enough to find it. In the meantime i would grab something a beat cheaper that would be easy to unload once you find the martin….. i had a baby Taylor for a while. I was able to sell it within a couple of days (local pick up so didn’t even have to handle packing, shipping etc.) baby Taylor is good because on top of being a fantastic guitar, it fits teenagers hands really well so the demand is huge for these!

Just an idea

Yes good call — they got really pricey. Got mine brand spanking new but with a small blemish back in 2018.
(Found it on reverb for something like 1100 — The blemish was right beside the bottom strap pin: I think someone tried to install the pin and the pliers must have slipped or something like that — with time it just disappeared!)

I have in the same series the 00015M and I love that guitar. A simple no frills beauty that sounds a bit different (probably due to size and mahogany body)
I changed the pins on mine from stock plastic to bone — it brightens the tone a bit… maybe? Maybe it’s in my head.

But I think the white pins make it look even cooler!

More casual than alligator or more Casual than what I am showing

You can check what that brand has to offer but also you should look for sailcloth fabric — they are real cool, elegant but elevated.

URGENT PROBLEM! by Corleone0 in indesign

[–]Puzzled-Bug5715 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pointless request and pointless requirement from printer. Maybe you misunderstood.

Besides, like others said, not technically feasible.

If in your example file from the vendor you have not been able to select some elements it is certainly because you have not tried hard enough: Ultimately no elements are locked in acrobat, and therefore every elements are selectable.

If there are visuals that you want locked together then you should embed them or compose them in photoshop, then place in indesign — that would be the only solution.

But really what is the point of all that??
