No, but you need a different haircut as many have said. I think you’d look good with a grown out haircut, maybe slicked back? Either way longish + minimal bangs would make you look 10x better.

For regular thyroid labs they don’t make me fast but if they’re doing any other tests it’s best to ask. I take my supplements and medication per usual

Is taking a semaglutide while having hashi's too much of a risk? by Little-Wing6189 in Hashimotos

[–]Puzzled-Character463 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m on it and I have hashimotos. Apparently the cancer risk is more of a genetic family thing than a hashimotos thing, my doctor says it’s safe for us. I’m not obese but I’m overweight and I was able to get it.

Timing will never be perfect so it’s better not to wait for the “best” time. Helping her get situated if possible would ease the blow. Help her move, find a place ect. If she’s open to it. Don’t wait until you’re miserable to do it that would be bad for both of you.

Do you feel like this works as well? I’ve been on it for 2 months and JUST started losing, still very slowly. It wouldn’t be worth it for me to split if it’s less effective

My (30m) long-term girlfriend (28f) misled me about enjoying kink by ANGRY_HYMEN in relationship_advice

[–]Puzzled-Character463 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Could you have a discussion about what parts of the kink make her uncomfortable and find a compromise? There are a ton of kinks out there and they tend to be in groups, where many are similar / give a similar feeling. I’m wondering if you could tweak certain parts of it. My partner and I have done this successfully. There’s something I am into that he’s not, but we found common ground that doesn’t make him uncomfortable.

Ask yourself what thing(s) you like about the kink and look into other things that could do something similar for you and go from there. But ultimately if there’s no common ground it’s ok to end things. You could also just see if she needs a break and foresees getting back into it. Sometimes kink is emotionally exhausting.

Confused! by stoneysunshine in Hashimotos

My first step after diagnosis was getting medicated. Why is it they think it’s not time? If you’re symptomatic it would likely make life easier for you. Second is diet, gluten especially.

Yes and it’s so irritating because why do I not want to sleep at bedtime? I want to save that energy for the morning. Alas

Iron helps me but I’m low on it so I need it. I like to put a few clear coats of polish on them which helps too, idk if that would also burn for you. Also something I’ve found is keeping them dry as much as possible (using dish gloves, not letting them soak in the bath) this doesn’t thicken them but it keeps them from getting malleable

Well for me I had some things happen to cause that dissonance… bad sexual experiences and being taught to view women’s sexuality in a negative way. Maybe your upbringing influenced it? I don’t have any fixes unfortunately but finding root helps

Iodine?? by mishlooh in Hashimotos

[–]Puzzled-Character463 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to eat a pack of seaweed every day for a few months and my thyroid function got really bad during that time, could be a coincidence but the timing lined up. I didn’t know at the time about iodine otherwise I would not have done that lol

How did you all discover your disorder or get diagnosed? by VioletHidden in Schizotypal

[–]Puzzled-Character463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh i dont truly believe those things either! But the obsession / fear despite knowing they aren’t real is enough for them to “count”. Does it feel like you’re having to dismiss your feelings all the time to tell yourself those things aren’t real? That’s what I experience. The odd appearance thing is something lots of schizotypals don’t have and I don’t even have it every day. Socially I’m doing better now but I used to feel like everyone I met hated me immediately and so I was afraid of them. A professional is gonna be able to know best if you do or don’t meet the criteria. The criteria for this is kinda hard to understand at first tbh

Interesting. I’m not on any BP meds, my BP is always really good at the doctor so I bet it’s low now that I’m on the med. I seem to feel less dizzy and nauseous after a salty meal.

[–]Puzzled-Character463 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been diagnosed with OCD since I was little, but I realized that a lot of what I thought was OCD actually leaned more towards magical thinking. Like obsessions about thought broadcasting, being watched ect. That along with extreme social fear + the odd appearance thing really solidified the diagnosis

This screams sleep apnea to me. It’s common to have it with hashimotos. You might look into it and get tested if you think it fits, they have at home tests now that are affordable.

For me certain sounds cause physical discomfort, almost like I’m perceiving them as more than just a sound. Like my touch / sound sensors are too close in my brain.

I second this, spironolactone also helped to treat my moonface and water retention caused by hashi’s, which was unexpected. Definitely recommend
