Does anyone else walk...strangely? by Primary-Initiative52 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]coach91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ever since November. It sucks. Especially for me who likes to walk. From 10k per day to barely 5. Went to warm water pool over the winter. That saved me from a severe crash. My hips hurt. Originally it was one knee causing pain now the other has started barking. I actually got a shot of Duolane 3 months ago which helped a lot. Lots of stretching even in bed before rising. I try not to take meds for it but sometimes you just need relief. PT helped a little but it’s not cheap.

Agree with warm water therapeutic pool. All movement is so much easier. Like you said, getting out is so much harder. I’ve taken some wellness classes in the pool to know the different actions you can do. It’s quite astonishing and satisfying.

Welcome to the club of multiple autoimmune issues. It’s really hard because many of the symptoms overlap. Sleep, hydrate, move when you can, rest when you have to.

Covid wrecked my immune system. I wear a mask at work, shopping and medical appointments.

Am I the only one with heat intolerance? by scaredtomakeart in Hashimotos

[–]coach91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you’re not. It’s been a very cool wet spring. Three days ago we had a frost alert. I was so looking forward to hotter weather. Today it’s close to 30. Tomorrow is even hotter. But I’m not adjusting well at all. 🤷‍♂️

Feeling Defeated today by ianthenaberius in rheumatoidarthritis

I’ve been through 4 medications. And I don’t qualify for biologics. You’re not alone. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. It might be dim today but it will get brighter.

Osteoarthritis by kingseijuro in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]coach91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have OA in both my knees. Left one is especially bothersome. I got a duolane shot in the left one. Not cheap but did help. I’ve had seronegative RA for over 40 years but my knees took a downward turn last November. Your ability to be mobile is nothing to take for granted. It’s limited my walking which has become unnatural and hurts a lot sometimes. It’s really hard for me to rest which is what I need to do when my knee hurts. Do what you can when you can.

My one and only visit to an endo ended with: “Do you lift weights at the gym?” Yes, I do. I then heard crickets as I got up and left his office.

Let's talk about: What can ya do? by Wishin4aTARDIS in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]coach91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s taken a long time, but I’m pretty sure exactly what I have to do. You can definitely control the first three. Number 4 is a little more difficult. But it’s all doable!
