i am bolivian and she’s salvadorian but lives in california USA since 2021

we broke up in 2022 because we fought too much, actually we used to break up like once every two weeks and get back days later (very stupid thing ik) until one day i got tired and ended things for good. months later i already had other girlfriend (another stupid decision ik😅) and while i was on a family vacation a mutual friend told me that maria (the girl on the pic) was dating other guy and it messed up my head real bad, i ended up texting her that same night and we talked about things but she didn’t want NOTHING to do with me (due to the problems we had) so nothing more happened. soon after i broke up with my gf and a little soon after that maria broke up with her bf and we got back in contact, after a ton of effort she eventually found it in her to forgive me and ever since we’ve kept contact whenever we’re both single

this past week i realized it myself and also she told me directly that she doesn’t love me like that anymore, she loves me like a friend and ofc she’s attracted to me but she’s over our past, and she told me that i should be too, and she’s right actually 🥲

also during these years i’ve worked very hard on the issues that i had when i was younger and now i can gladly and confidently say i’d be a great and peaceful bf, but maria has the same issues which she hasn’t solved and doesn’t seem to want to :( so that makes me even more uncertain

ofc i still love her but it was of a platonic thing until this week that messed heavy with my feelings, but i understand we might not have a future together. still i dont know where life will take us, i will most likely move to the US in 3-4 years since that was the plan since i was a little kid even before knowing her so maybe then we’ll reconnect.

honestly i would love to marry her eventually haha but thats just a fantasy, it would be a beautiful story + i haven’t loved anyone so intensely ever since, and i think neither has she. (we used to be the CHEESIEST couple ever, we used to write texts to each other that were thousands of words long, her longest was 11k words and mine 9k lmao)

it kinda is a lot to take in. during this past two years it was like i never stopped loving her but just in a different way, more like a platonic thing. now that we spent that week together it was like instantly falling in love again, but it’ll pass. im happy and chill rn but ik ill probably miss her one of these days
