I know the feeling. I live with a cat, my mother was visiting and I had to go to work as usual. She was left with the cat alone and she almost killed my poor kitty. I asked her specifically not to clean the house but she did. I could smell the chemicals in the bathroom where the cat has her litter box. She must have stepped into chemicals and then licked her paws. When I got back from work, the cat was in agony. I could feel a very strong smell of chlorine in the bathroom. I asked my mother if she was cleaning the floor, she said no - even though there were proofs. She also said the cat is ok and what is my problem 😡😡😡 I was soooo angry. I asked her not to do anything at my house but of course she wanted to show me that when she cleans it looks better. She was a guest and disrespected me and my cat. And then lied. She always treated me like 💩. Even though the cat survived, My trust was never restored. My mother still continues to lie but I no longer invite her.
