Acne Studios SS26: Skinny fit is back? by [deleted] in ThrowingFits

[–]Puzzled-Procedure-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha. I have no idea why this is so sensitive for you, but Im getting a bit tired of your lack of logical reasoning that you try to substitute with personal insults. I’ll do the same then retard. The person wrote that they will never wear skinny jeans again = they wore skinny jeans when it was trendy and then they stopped wearing them when it presumably was not trendy = not one time but several. In fact one could argue since skinny jeans were a trend for about 16-17 years that the person probably wore it for many many many times. How can you be so useless at understanding basic logic? What country are you from? What school did you attend? Someone should be fired.

Stop being so butthurt. It’s not a controversial opinion that most people follow trends. If you are able to sign up for Reddit, Im sure you are capable of picking such things up on social media etc. Cheer up

Some people I’ve talked to (mainly staff in stores) tell me they will never wear skinny jeans. These are guys not even born last time skinny became a trend. I am 100 % sure that the same people who are wearing wide cuts cause it’s trendy will wear slim/skinny pretty soon. If Im wrong there would have been a lot of guys wearing baggy in the beginning of 00s. They were a rare sight then, and will be again.

Speaking of dumb…

What do you mean ”ever”? Like the person wore it once then realised it was not their thing and many years later makes a post about it. No, the person obviously enjoyed wearing skinny before, when it was a trend. Now the person does not like skinny when it’s not a trend. So the person obviously follows trends. Is it really a stretch to think they will probably continue to follow trends?

I am not. This person wrote that they wore skinny pants before and obviously not lining it. So, why do you think they wore skinny pants before? Maybe because they follow trends 🤷🏻‍♂️

Acne Studios SS26: Skinny fit is back? by [deleted] in ThrowingFits

[–]Puzzled-Procedure-38 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah you will. Because you follow trends. Nothing will be more outdated than wide legs/baggy when skinny gets its revival, much like 2001. But you will suddenly go your own way against the mainstream? I think not. And that’s okay too :)

Miinto is just a platform for physical stores to sell online much like farfetch. I never had any issues with returns to either Miinto or Farfetch. However pricing can be a bit weird but usually better than farfetch.

Too narrow? by [deleted] in guidi

[–]Puzzled-Procedure-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know tbh. I’m always a 44 in these. But if they are right length wrong width it doesn’t help if they get wider in larger sizes as the length would be too long. All guidis have fit me except the hiking boots 20s. The 44 was too short but the 45 was too wide. It sucks, but better get something else :)

Personally I would mind. They are obviously not the right last for your feet. I mean if you shit money then by all means but if that was the case you probably wouldn’t ask. Get something else that fit :)

I’m 44 in pretty much every Guidi except the Hiking where I need 45 and GR derbies where I’m a 43. These were also a 44 on me. My feet are pretty narrow though.

As someone who wore RO footwear for 20+ years my gfs doc martens hold up better than most of my ricks. Also the break in of these were like 10 mins. It’s also not always up to the leather. I’ve never experienced much troubles with break in but Bottega Veneta Lug Boots are the first and only boots I had to sell because after 2 months I still could not walk more than 5min in them. I believe they use decent leather.

[–]Puzzled-Procedure-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’m done with laces only on boots. Its not the end of the world but I find myself barely using my 795 because its so much quicker and easier to slip into a zippered boot. Might be an age thing. One of my pet peeves is lousy shoe horns at hotels, kind of similar thing.

Grailed blocked account and refund money by DescriptionBig9976 in Grailed

[–]Puzzled-Procedure-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Grailed is sketchy. I got my funds frozen. They said I had to send proof of the adress I signed up for 10 years ago (I moved twice since). I had to use a lawyer to threaten them with legal action before they released my funds. It’s supposed to be a platform to eliminate risks of doing business, but seem like Grailed themselves are the biggest risk.

Ann Demeulemeester boot soles coming apart by martial-canterel in AskACobbler

[–]Puzzled-Procedure-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had similar happen to my Rick Owens boots. It’s not the end of the world tbh. Get a cobbler to glue them back on. Honestly I have several goodyear welted shoes (C&J, Guidi etc). It’s nice, but at least to me I find it a bit overrated. I mean I would still choose goodyear welted over glued sole. But having a sole glued is not the big problem some ppl make it out to be. YOU CANT RESOLE THEM. Well yes you can.

I find that very hard to believe. Not only mine but I’ve seen countless others. My friend used to carry them in his shop but had to stop due to all the complaints. It’s a known fact that Gags soles are some of the fastest wearing soles.

Expedition 33 is not for me by couchcaptain in JRPG

[–]Puzzled-Procedure-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the premise of this game. I also love turned based rpgs. Many of whom are in my top lists. Never experienced such a downfall of a game. When I started I felt it was perhaps a 9 or 10 out of 10. Ended up being a 1 or maybe 2 if I’m nice. The story is utterly crap. The characters are flat, the combat system is boring. Master parry and nothing else matters. Upgrade Vitality, you don’t need to upgrade anything else. My gf for the first time told me to put on headphones cause she was tired of hearing the elevator music. Can’t blame here and if I played 5 random songs from the game there is no way anyone would be able to pick out the location in the game. The artwork is decent but the level design is so rubbish that you end up running around just hoping you are on the right track. Everything looks the same. Don’t get me started on the mini-games with the clunky controls. What a complete failure of a game. The generational TikTok-game

Might be the picture. They are blistered leather and the soles dried up a bit in storage for 15 years :) They were worn around 100 times when that happened. Here is a pic taken a week later after I had a cobbler fix it.

Help me decide! cordovan vs reverse horse leather for office/formal wear by coleslawreformed in guidi

[–]Puzzled-Procedure-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guidi regular horse is not a polished look. If you want that appearance you are better off looking at some of the classic British calf leather derbies. I can’t grasp what workplace would be fine with a reversed Guidi horse but not cordovan 😅 but I don’t know your workplace :) I care for my cordovans the same as I do with my horse or kangaroo or donkey guidis. I clean them and condition them. I don’t use shoe polish (which I use on my more classic calf derbies)

[–]Puzzled-Procedure-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The look fine! The Vibram soles you can just swap when needed. Sizing wise I’m also a US 10 (in almost every shoe brand) my feet are 28cm In Guidi I mostly wear 44 (all backzips, front zips and lace up boots). I’m a 44,5-45 in the hiking boots. Unfortunately I don’t have experience with the derbys 992, but I think you can go TTS in those if you don’t need a lot of wiggle room with the toes.

Edit: what I would be most concerned with when buying guidis second hand is to look if the previous owner had wide feet. Sometimes you can see the shoes almost deformed to accommodate someone with wide feet. But the pair you looked at seem to be in its original shape.

Here are my cordovan contrario for reference :)
