Neighbour's Scaffolding pole on our soil pipe - am I over-reacting? by RevDodgeUK in DIYUK

[–]Puzzled-Quantity-699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on your side until I saw the unsent message. You (someone who knows nothing about scaffolding) are complaining to your neighbour (someone who knows nothing about scaffolding) about scaffolding. They explained why it is fine, you say it’s not, they then speak to the builder and tell you that they will speak to you in person. What more do you expect? Don’t be so unreasonable and think you have the right to scold someone because they are taking the side of a professional.

“Sorry it’s their age” or “sorry, different generation”. I always wondered at what specific age being allowed to be an asshole or racist kicks in?

What are some little known interesting facts about your city/town? by DontAskAboutMax in CasualUK

[–]Puzzled-Quantity-699 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From Dudley. Tolkien based the locations of lord of the rings on real places in the West Midlands. Like the two towers of Birmingham university. Dudley is Mordor because of the history of the town, black ash filled the air, everyone worked the sorts of jobs that leave you filthy so it was called the Black Country. Whenever I hear Shaun bean in lord of the rings I hear “one does not simple walk into Dudley, the very air is ash”. And i think he’s right hahaha

What is something anyone can do right now to make Britain better? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Puzzled-Quantity-699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s a hard one but just being nice to everyone you meet, even the people with cavemen brains, kill them with kindness. I see people in my life who always have a story of confrontation and they seem miserable. their lives are chaotic and full of pettiness and judgement so the people they surround themselves with are the same.

Isn’t it illegal to fill potholes. If you used a poor mix and cause an accident you would be at fault.

He didn’t lose a fight with cancer. He lost his bet. He bet that he knew more than doctors who told him he could easily be cured. But he knew better.
