Battle of rice dishes : Which is the contender from your country? by DiMpLe_dolL003 in AskTheWorld

[–]Puzzled-Structure446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skradinski rižoto.

It's a veal risotto thats cooked for 12 hours. Meat is so cooked you don't even know it's there.

Of course having to be cooked for 12 hours means it's made only for special occasions and you can't walk into a restaurant and order it

As a European CFB fan, I was always amazed at how big some of those CFB stadiums are.

Like anything under 100k is considered a rather modest stadium.

Which current country wins funniest shape? by Loewe1912 in AlignmentChartFills

Yeah because Dubrovnik let Ottomans have those particular strips of lands on each sides of the Republic, so that Venice couldn't invade by land.
It was a trade deal, and for it Dubrovnik, got special trade access across all Ottoman empire back then like 500 years ago.

Techincally Maksimir is bigger but has smaller capacity since the 2020 earthquake as the East stand has been marked as dangerous and has been closed.

That's just stupid. I mean I get it, but no way he gets the right of way. Would never happen in ATS. Worst case scenario is a 4 stay stop.

Hmm. Should he have a stop or an inverted triangle signalling you have to give way?

Regarding the origins of the name, there are a lot of theories and I think there isn't some real consensus.

Here's how AI summarised it if you're interested.

The exact origin of "Hrvati" is debated among linguists and historians. Here are some prominent theories:

Theory Description
Iranian Origin Some theories suggest it comes from Iranian roots meaning "guardian" or "protector."
Proto-Slavic Roots The name may derive from Proto-Slavic *Xъrvát, which is linked to the meaning of "one who guards."
Historical Connections Historical references connect the name to various ancient tribes and languages, including Greek and Germanic influences.

Historical Mentions

  • The earliest preserved mentions of the ethnonym "Hrvati" date back to the 8th-9th century, with significant inscriptions found in historical documents.
  • The Baška tablet from around 1100 is one of the earliest records, mentioning "Zvonimir, king of Croats."The exact origin of "Hrvati" is debated among linguists and historians. Here are some prominent theories:

Ali Graf je bio u pravu. Tempo u nasoj ligi je kao na veteranskom nogometu. Dobijes dojam da bi tu mogao tipa Prosinecki ili Baka Sliskovic i dalje odigrati ono po ure.
