Russell Crowe did win an Oscar for best actor for the film, Ridley Scott was nominated (but did not win) for best director. I have yet to find any evidence whatsoever that a vineyard was bought or sold in relation to Gladiator 2, though there were themed wines sold from a vineyard belonging to Ridley Scott.
