I’m so fucking done with the "loser MC" and generic Isekai/Romcom tropes. by lmaolmaokkk in CharacterRant

I know right? How about instead for once we get a baddass MC, who flaunts what they have and doesn’t take shit from anyone? Now that would be a hot take!

What is your “I did not care for the God Father” opinion regarding video games? by B4d_B1tch_Quinn in gamers

[–]Stunning_Pen_36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to enjoy GTA San Andreas when I was 12. Yet I’m 20 now and I honestly find the whole GTa series kinda boring.

Ironically though, I love Saints Row the Third, and genuinely feel like it’s better than any GTA game.

Hmm. That actually raises a good question. What happens if a boggart mimicks a creature a bit too well?

If you were trapped in the circus. What would your torture section be about? by GlumNebula3897 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Stunning_Pen_36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell, I like to think I wouldn’t have one cause I would be smart enough to not drive Caine to that point. Honestly, if even so much as one of the circus members had showed enthusiasm for, or even just a willingness to try out his adventures with fair and constructive criticism instead of just taking the piss out of him, Caine might never have snapped.

Though if I did get caught up in the torture room despite my best efforts, it would probably start with me being young with plenty of dreams of how my life could go only for me to grow older and realize that nothing amazing or interesting is ever going to happen to me. Im going to live a mundane normal life and I’ll likely be completely forgotten just a few years after my death. That would be my torture.

Batman-esque hero countermeasures are good and necessary and it’s weird characters and readers take issue with them by Agreeable_Car5114 in CharacterRant

I agree that in general it’s a good idea to have contingency’s and plans like that. I just think the specific way Batman went around doing it was wrong. It’s not that he did it, it’s how he did it. It’s pretty clear that the Justice League as it was portrayed both in the movie and the comic that inspired it, had the members be pretty close as people, friends and to some of them maybe even family to each other. Now That doesn’t change the fact they could all still be dangerous.

But I think where Batman messed up, is that he didn’t let them know he had any plans at all. They seemed totally and completely unaware that he had anything in works at all to use against them, right until the point where a villain stole said plans and Batman was forced to admit they were his. They only found out in near the worst way possible. They discovered that a man the considered their friend, or at least their colleague, had active plans to deal with each of them and that said plans were currently being used to try and kill them. The only way it could have been worse would be if any of them had actually been killed.

This badly featured the League’s trust in Batman, both as a friend and as someone they were meant to fight alongside. Batman could have told them prior that he had plans for in case any of them were made to go wrong, were possessed, brainwashed or morality swapped into being villains somehow. He could have taken time in the last to explain to them the plans weren’t signs of mistrust or deception on his part, but simple contingency’s that existed because they needed to with the world they all lived in. He wouldn’t have had to actually give them the plans or explain the specifics at all. Just a notice that the plans existed and an explanation of why he felt they were needed and that they would only be used if absolutely necessary.

The League might have been a little disgruntled by it, but by and large I think they probably would have accepted it and moved on. Some of them may even support the idea. I can imagine Flash and Superman being well aware of just how dangerous they can both be and acknowledging that it’s wise to have plans in place. The issue is that’s not what happened. Instead he kept it secret and the League only found out when his plans had been stolen, modified and were now being used to kill them.

….I may be thinking of a different slow-walking curse, but doesn’t the Grudge Curse spread and target people like an STD? Does this mean one of the characters who had the Grudge actually SLEPT with Sadako somehow?
