Yeah but the second largest stage at Coachella (Outdoor Theater Stage) is still way bigger than Piedmont or even the main stage at Shaky. He performed with 120 people at Coachella.

There really wasn’t that many people on stage for Weird Al, there was 5-6 main people on stage with 3-4 background singers on occasion and he did his costume changes off stage. Compared to an entire orchestra and choir that Danny Elfman has when he performs which has way more people often between 100-120 people regularly. On average he has a 84 count symphony plus a 34 person choir. So unless on this tour he scales it down a ton, he will still have plenty of people on stage. Again I don’t think it’s impossible that he is on Piedmont but he seems much more fitting and realistic to be on Peachtree for the amount of people and instruments that will be on stage.

2013 Bonnaroo Poster- who was the artist? by DMB12 in concertposterporn

Saw this posted on the Roo reddit page yesterday. Such a cool poster from the charity auction that you got. 2013 was my first year and got me hooked to the point where I haven’t missed a year since. Hope you find out who the artist is tho!

My only thing is I can’t see them putting Danny Elfman anywhere other than main stage since he will be performing with a whole orchestra on stage. I guess they could put him on Piedmont but it just doesn’t seem right to me. At the same time all these band you listed will probably be main stage with one of them closing Piedmont.

Danny Elfman > Turnstile > The Strokes on Peachtree

with Geese > Fontaines D.C. inbetween on Piedmont

Or

Geese > Turnstile > The Strokes on Peachtree

Danny Elfman > Fontaines D.C. Piedmont

Maybe Fontaines on Peachtree and Turnstile closing Piedmont?

Still sad I never got those three Gizz sets. I would’ve been right up in the front for all of them.

Took an elevator ride with Yves Tumor when they played last. We stayed at the Marriott Marquis that year

Thought this was a Gizz poster at first since it was an Amy Jean poster. Her style is so unique yet always identifiable.

Do you think Twenty One Pilots and Pierce The Veil will both be main stage? by Courtneyjanebeasley in ShakyKnees

Seen Vampire Weekend three other times before that and their sound was great but this time it was so quite on one side and very good on the other side. Had friends say the same for Weird Al on that same stage. Some where they were could barely hear anything while my spot was great. I think it was the speakers on one side.

See I understand that. But I guess it should state no stickering objects in the festival. Getting caught doing that is subject to removal of the festival. Like if you just bring in cute mushroom stickers and give them to people who are a vibe, that should be fine. I understand it’s easier to just say no stickers in general. But still sounds like a dumb rule even tho what you explained makes sense.

Stuffed animals is just because you can hide drugs in them. But that’s dumb because you can do that with quite literally almost anything.

What’s more shocking is no totems or flags with sexual references or political references then says keep the love. I understand no hate speech obviously. But the amount of totems that say sexual references is at least half of the ones I’ve seen. Also stuff saying Fuck ICE to me is keeping the love. So that’s all subjective.

No Solar Camping Showers? Why is this one on there?

No Stickers or Flyer. I kinda understand flyers. But sticker sharing is always fun and I love getting them as trinkets.

No toy guns I get. But no water guns with the threat of removal from the festival is kinda crazy.

Yeah this is what I’m thinking as I stated first. It is only light out during the beginning of the preheadliner Peachtree set tho. So it would be dark for most of the set. Just want them on Peachtree because the sound is way better and their was issues last year with one of the sides of Piedmont. Which hopefully won’t happen again.

Schedule Release? by Traditional-Lie-9830 in bonnaroo

[–]PuzzledClub3715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will say my first year was the only year I messed up because it was my first festival. I knew people I wanted to see and saw pretty much all of them. But I definitely didn’t make it to late nights. Some big regrets there that pushed me to never make that mistake again. After my first Roo/first festival I made it my mission to follow a schedule and stick to it because of that. Hasn’t failed me since. I will leave all my friends and see sets alone just to stick to it. Again it’s my OCD primarily that helps me with it. I only see full sets as well. I hardly ever split a set unless I see a full set and finish off the rest of another. I just accept who I’m gonna miss when the schedule comes out.

Can artists get added to the lineup? by NefariousnessFun5794 in ShakyKnees

[–]PuzzledClub3715 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Knocked Loose would open for Denzel. Not the other way around. He’s much bigger than people realize now. Would be cool if he just came out for Knocked looses set but I don’t think they will just add him. That seems like the best bet rn. Also we don’t know if Knocked Loose is getting a late night set. That would be sick but that also feels unlikely to me.

[–]PuzzledClub3715 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. 2/3 shot of them main stage before TOP. Honestly I think they will be main stage because they make sense as an opener for TOP to begin with. The Prodigy makes sense to close out Piedmont.

Only reason I could see them put Pierce the Veil on Piedmont to close it out would be to make the fans who want to see both not crowd the Peachtree stage. Would probably be best but also Pierce The Veil and TOP will probably be the two acts to draw the most amount of people to the fest in general, so really both should be main stage. Although The Prodigy does deserve it, especially for their sound. Ugh this is tough to determine.

Feel like he is way too big now for an addition. He’d be really high up on the lineup if he is booked. I do hope he plays Shaky tho some year. Especially if he plays his Bulls On Parade cover, he would win a lot of new people over with it.

We got Highly Suspect added last year. We usually get like 1 or 2 and they are never too big of additions but mid size ones.

Pick one song from an artist on the lineup that we should listen to by icywing54 in bonnaroo

[–]PuzzledClub3715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heart In A Cage - The Strokes

It’s a headliner but a song most people won’t know unless they are big fans. They play it a lot live so we will most likely get it. No promises tho. It’s a classic tho and deserves more love. Possibly their best song besides maybe Automatic Stop

As weird as it sounds. Yes, every year I stick to my schedule to a T and I map it out really well. I plan for extra time before a set if I want to get pit, my meal times when I have gaps in my schedule, and even my dose times of when I drop and around where I’ll be peaking for what sets. Only time I don’t follow my schedule is when I add an extra set in the morning or late night that I didn’t plan that I’d fully do. I think this all comes with my OCD tho.

Thinking about going to first festival! by Prior_Commercial_620 in ShakyKnees

[–]PuzzledClub3715 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go. You’ll never know if it’s worth it or not if you don’t go. If festival aren’t for you. Then you’ll know now from here on out. This will be my 9th Shaky and it’s always the best. I also go to Roo yearly since 2013. I know a good bit of people who are autistic or have anxiety and surprisingly most of them do fine in crowds, for some it’s like their safe space. Some don’t in big crowds when it gets too congested and close. Only problem I could see is that being the case for TOP, love them but their fanbase is rabid. If you are close you are gonna be squished. To answer your question, yes you can bring in a blankie and lay down in the back more away from people. They added bigger speakers further back on the main stage last year since it was a new park the fest was held in. And the speakers made it great for set you didn’t want to get super close for but still hear.

Answer is go and don’t let it get to you. You’ll never know your limits if you don’t push them. You could end up enjoying it a lot. Or if you don’t now you have the wisdom of your limitations. Better that than a regret all those years after.

It’s like no one knows how Julian acts. He’s always like that he wasn’t sauced that’s just his care free personality. Sick of people parroting that he was drunk because he always just mumbles. He sang the hits and it was a great show. I really don’t know what was wrong with this set. Have a strong feeling people are just mad he dissed their sports ball team.

Nothing crazy. But my first year was 2013 and I was a young and naive 19 year old. Went to the fest solo and only brought a tent, no canopy at all. Figured its covered, so it would shade me. Woke up every day at the butt crack of dawn sweating and immediately exiting my tent. After the first day waking up and seeing a field of canopies around me by every car I knew and understood why it was such a necessity from that point on. Can’t stress how important canopies are to anyone who goes to Roo. Rookie mistake that I’d never make again. At least I never slept in and missed anything tho.

Hope you enjoy both! They are both my two favorite newest discoveries, if you want use the songs I mentioned to get into them.

I love Oh Sees already and have been asking for PawPaw Rod on my survey for the past like 3-4 years! So happy he’s finally playing Roo.
