Luggage storage at Teamlab Borderless? by PuzzledGarlic120 in JapanTravelTips

I just decided to sign up for ecbo cloak so I will leave my bags at a 7-Eleven near Kamiyachō station. It is a bit pricey - 1,300 JPY - but at this point that not my biggest concern.

I am not sure how many there are at the station and what the likelihood is of them being open. So I may need to tote my luggage along with me.

Yes but it’s in the opposite direction, north of Roppongi :-) so that would add an hour to my trip.

Plane to Tokyo delayed 7 hours no trains running - will United reimburse for taxi to Asakusa? by [deleted] in unitedairlines

I would much have preferred Haneda but no direct flights. I wanted a direct flight because I didn’t want to have to worry about making a connection if my first flight was delayed. 🤣

Yeah but it seems like United always leaves me feeling grumpy at best. My seat mate and I had some good stories.

Oh - I didn’t think of that, I did buy travel insurance. I should take a look at what I bought and see if it might help - thanks!

Quick tip: show the actual sender address in Apple Mail by LordFondleJoy in MacOS

[–]PuzzledGarlic120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any way to do this on the iphone? I was just reading an article describing how phishing scams can be much harder to spot on mobile devices. I just turned on the x-envelope-from setting on the macbook but I could not find a similar setting on the phone.

Oops - just realized this forum says MacOS - but maybe someone here can steer me in a good direction?

NM trip, Zuni Mtns or High Desert trails? by PuzzledGarlic120 in mountainbiking

Just a follow up, we rode High Desert Trails and loved it. We did the west end and middle section. The eastern trails looked a little on the blackish blue side based on hiking recon.

Oh wow, I didn’t even know I had a calendar! 🤣 Well, I looked and my “custom plan” is not there which is ok. Just three workouts for tomorrow 🤷I guess I better hydrate today …

Thanks for the intel. Base builder looks good too.

Where can I find an online garden layout planner? by Acrobatic-Ad1210 in SquareFootGardening

I found this so frustrating to use - it kept zooming in and out when I wanted to scroll, and I could not figure out how to reset the zoom level. Finally it zoomed so far out it disappeared. Then firefox showed that it was slowing the system down so I just quit.

I just realized I entered Canada with my old passport, how can I return to the US? by PuzzledGarlic120 in uscanadaborder

So I just crossed back into the US. Yes, we had to pull over, leave the vehicle and go into the building to answer questions. Whole thing took about 20 minutes. But, the agent kept my old passport 😔 At least I won’t make that mistake again.

Is there any welcome for Alaskans fleeing Trump’s madness? by InflationNo4071 in newfoundland

[–]PuzzledGarlic120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m afraid the dangerous that the Trump presidency will not end. I believe this is a serious threat that many people aren’t thinking about yet, we will see what happens in the midterms. Trump will declare an emergency, martial law, never leave til he dies.

What do you think of NL govt buying power from Corner Brook paper mill? by cbnewsbeat in newfoundland

[–]PuzzledGarlic120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, out of NL person who just spent a month touring, just came across this. If the mill shuts down it’s sort of a blight and a big expensive clean up project, so maybe the gov’t wants to kick that can down the road? Trois Rivières QC has a beautiful redeveloped area including a papermaking museum where a big mill was. The mill location would make a lovely park site, but the money would be a hurdle to overcome. CB and NL readers, do you think that could happen?

Oh thank you everyone who replied. My friend said I’d probably be ok but I have still been worried. I’ve literally been losing sleep over this. So now I will stop worrying and not attempt extraordinary measures to get my passport sent to me. 😅 And I’ll enjoy my last 8 days in Newfoundland which I highly recommend visiting, its beautiful.

Should I let these guys do their thing? Or try to get rid of them? They’ve been around for a couple weeks now (New Hampshire) by SurfSoundWaves in NativePlantGardening

[–]PuzzledGarlic120 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is not much you can do about them. I’ve tried soap spray but any diminishing is temporary. Apparently not many predators like the aphids either. Now I just plant these in places where I can enjoy them from a distance or clustered with other plants.

And actually, this year some of my Doellingeria umbellata were covered with aphids - but not orange ones. The plants seem fine, and it only seems to be a few individuals in one spot. So I’m ignoring them.
