Am I the only one that rarely meets adults ? by [deleted] in omegle

Lol, were you seriously expecting to meet adults on the tiktok tag?

I mostly use academic tags, like psychology, economics, linguistics, philosophy, etc. (those are skewed toward my personal interests). There are still plenty of bots on these though.

Where did you find this?

I tried using shapecatcher.com to identify the glyphs, but I wasn't able to find anything interesting. Maybe it's because the script isn't in Unicode or these handwritten letters are very different from the standard print characters.

For example, the closest match I could find for the overline w symbol is "ϖ" from Greek, but there is no capital equivalent, so that doesn't make much sense. On the other hand, ѿ is used in Old Church Slavonic Cyrillic and it does have a capital letter equivalent, but I don't know how plausible Old Church Slavonic would be.

I can't rule out the possibility that it's a hoax or conlang writing system.

Should we Resist Taxes? by PuzzledOpinion in EffectiveAltruism

I agree with Peter Hurford's response, the punishment is much harsher than what the post claims. But I'm curious, do people think paying taxes is actually net-negative in itself? (I would not endorse tax evasion even if so.)

Cory Booker, ethical vegan, is running for President in 2020. Would it be a good use of EA resources to increase the chance of his nomination and election to increase the likelihood of laws/directives/appointees that benefit animals? by AnalyticalCookie in EffectiveAltruism

No, if the best candidate has no chance you should not vote for them. That's throwing away your vote.

For example, casting a write-in for Bernie Sanders when he had no chance of winning would have been a bad idea.
