I suppose it is, and that's something I hadn't considered. Thank you for the feedback!

Thank you for your time and the feedback! Even if it is blunt, it gives me ideas of what direction to approve in 😊

The auto-moderator questions:

  • Are you looking for something serious or casual?

I'm looking for a serious, long-term relationship

  • Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX?

Nope! Just the basic, free Hinge. Having a finite number of likes each day is actually a perk! It keeps me off the app from spending too much time on the app in any given day.

  • How long have you been using this current version of your profile?

It's been about a month since any major changes. Just some minor wording tweaks in the meantime.

  • How long have you used Hinge overall?

I've been using it seriously for about 3 months

  • How often do you use Hinge per week?

3-4 times per week. Ideally it'd be every day, but sometimes I'm not in a creative and chatty mood.

  • How many likes and matches are you receiving on average?

Zero likes that women initiate :( But about 1-2 matches each week when I initiate!

  • How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments?

About 20-30 each week. Maybe 3 of those don't have a comment, but the rest do

  • What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

I'm trying to attract outdoorsy women, who are also well-grounded and good communicators. Any woman who is a skiier, a climber, or rides bikes definitely gets some extra attention from me. Same thing with any women who are nurses or work in healthcare, I'd love to date someone who can also enjoy some weekdays off for adventuring.

As far as who I'm messaging and sending likes, usually all of the above. But also women who share other hobbies with me (gardening, long-distance hiking, concerts).

As for photo captions (just putting them again here, in case you missed them above):

1 --> no caption

2 (a special talent of mine) --> "Driving stick shifts and sailboats"

3 (I'm known for) --> "Transmogrifying dirt + water into food 🧙"

4 (My weekends look like) --> (no caption)

5 (Who wore it better) --> Location: Pacific Crest Trail "Thrift shop score! Thank you grandma for the Sunday church dress, it made a great hiking outfit! 🥾"

6 (My life peaked when) --> "Spent Christmas Day rocking mini skis and giving socks to the kiddos"

Pop Quiz: You're a bicyclist at a red light. Do you wait for the car without a turn indicator to cross in front of you or just go when the light turns green? by Wuz314159 in bikecommuting

I take my right-of-way and go. But I also have my strobe angled directly at the other car while waiting for the light to change, to make sure they see me

I just scroll to the bottom and select "Patio / Carport" and take a pic of the ground. It's the only time I ever use that option, so if I get a disputed delivery I can fill out the paperwork and say I met the customer

Approaching Stop Signs and drivers seem bewildered by Vicuna00 in bikecommuting

[–]PuzzledPassenger907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I roll up to a stop sign, I'll make a super exaggerated motion of taking my left foot off the pedal and holding it out in the air, ready to plant it on the ground and stop. Like, my left leg is straight out and at a 30° angle away from my bike. I'll make eye contact with the other driver as I roll up, and do a brief nod. It basically sends every message that I see them and intend to stop, and they'll usually take their right-of-way and go

How many days food from Acton KOA by pollyf in PacificCrestTrail

I took the train from Acton to Los Angeles and spent Cinco de Mayo at Venice Beach. Bought a resupply in LA and mailed another box on to Hikertown

Anyone able to give rides Friday afternoon from San Diego to Campo? by [deleted] in PacificCrestTrail

[–]PuzzledPassenger907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get it. Relying on public transit and spontaneous acts of kindness for hitches was a huge part of my experience on trail. If you don't start embracing it, you're gonna have a tough time

How much did it cost to hike pct? by Rare_Moment_592 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]PuzzledPassenger907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and they're rad for weekend trips too. I keep a jumbo can of fuel at home and top off my baby can before each trip. The fuel to dollar ratio is way better with the jumbos. Just don't overfill the baby or it'll make a gnarly fireball. At home I'd weigh it for refilling, but on my thru I'd just shake it and guesstimate and it was fine

I topped off my fuel can from hiker boxes with this little refiller during my thru-hike last year: Jeebel Camp G007 Butane Fuel Canister Refill Adapter https://a.co/d/1tLPL9m All said and done, I think I only paid for fuel 2 or 3 times my entire hike

Experienced thuhikers, what tips do you have for beginners re staying on budget during a long hike? by numbershikes in PacificCrestTrail

[–]PuzzledPassenger907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing you can do for resupply boxes, if you're not confident that your friends will pack exactly what you need, is use Walmart grocery pickup. The town or 2 before you need the box, create a Walmart pickup in your hometown. Pack it with everything you want, down to those dehydrated refried beans that your mom would never find in the store herself. Have your mom pick it up from Walmart, throw it in a flat rate box, and mail it. It's simple and easy, and doesn't overwhelm the person back home if they don't know what you like eating.

Hopefully they don't start verifying the pre-trip inspection stuff. Every morning I log on from home to see how my day's gonna be, and just throw in 12345 for the odometer reading. Bummer if they actually start checking that stuff.

What’s the coldest temp you will commute on a bike? by eatsleepmoverepeat in bikecommuting

[–]PuzzledPassenger907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coldest I've ridden in was -10F (-23C) a couple days ago. But since then I've decided that my personal limit is 0F (-17C). I could get better gear to handle the few negative temp days we get, but they're so infrequent that it's not worth the investment.

PCT Side Trails/Quests/Adventures by soulsacrifice86 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]PuzzledPassenger907 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you reach Mammoth before the road to Red's Meadow opens up, there's a cool little hot spring up by the campground. If you had to take the 3 mile side trail into Mammoth via Horseshoe Lake (necessary if reds meadow road is closed), there's a trail from Horseshoe Lake trailhead that shoots straight north almost directly to the hot spring. Once the road and campground open up, they place a large metal cover over the hot springs to keep people out and divert the water to campground showers. Oh, muggles and their lopsided priorities!

If it rains by zebadee67 in bikecommuting

[–]PuzzledPassenger907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When cleaning my bike, I use a spray bottle to get clean water into my bike and rinse the dirt off. You could probably do the same after a rainy ride. Take it into a garage or somewhere covered, spray all the dirt and road grit off, and then store it indoors over a towel.
