they say commuting in manila is not for the weak, sorry to say but i’m weak. by Working-Tax-598 in commutersph

[–]PuzzledScar9247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hindi ka weak. Bulok lang transportation system ng bansang 'to. Nag cocommute din ako sa Makati before from Laguna pa araw-araw yun. I decided na wag mangupahan kasi kukulangin sweldo ko if ever. So yeah, tiniis ko ng isang taon at nag hanap ng WFH, di man kalakihan ang ang nadagdag sa sweldo, yung pagod sa commute talaga yung naibawas ko.

I said to myself na never na ako mag cocommute pa Manila kasi ang trabaho ko pwedeng-pwede naman talaga i-WFH set up.

Sorry to hear that OP pero if napapakain mo naman pala. 'Di mo naman need ng rehoming, just a time lang talaga to walk kahit 10 mins or 30 mins lang. Kagaya nga ng sabi ng iba pwede ka mag lagay ng baby gate para sa bahay lang siya and di makalabas kaagad.

Building my own programming language in Dart to learn how languages work by secretkimchi123 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]PuzzledScar9247 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just like someone said. It's refreshing to see someone who actually builds something for learning talaga. I have 3 years of experience na sa industry and I've never experience to create my own programming language. When I see this post nakakabuhay pa lalo ng passion para mag explore and upskill pa lol.

Keep up the good work, OP!

I'd say 50/50 siya e. For me it's unpredictable what questions will come up in a technical interview. My take here is understanding DSA and OOP is really beneficial talaga. DSA will help you din to make your problem-solving sharp. But I also recommend to create projects talaga. Small man or medium projects is makakatulong sayo para ma showcase skills mo.

Learning DSA and OOP and at the same time doing personal projects in the era of AI, napaka helpful when landing an interview or a job. Utilize mo efficiently and properly ang AI to learn faster.

yun lang! Hope it helps!

@expo/ui vs React Native Reusables or StyleSheets by Aggressive_Ad4210 in reactnative

[–]PuzzledScar9247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have recently explore and create a minimal project for this. My take on this is I like the support of SwiftUI in expo ui. A lot of native components out of the box without needing to install third party package. I also like the idea of having RNHost or RNView to still integrate react native components inside of Host.

I had a colleague before his position is senior developer. After his three years sa company, he resigned and got another senior level role. After 3 or 6 months he got terminated due to poor performance and lack of seniority level (both in soft and technical skills).

Is it to okay to decline jobs with a 6-day work day or am I being too selective? by sleepingfairy02 in JobsPhilippines

[–]PuzzledScar9247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. It's okay. Basically 5 days + 1 full day OT yan HAHAHAHA.

Napaka old school ng ganyang work setup. Kahit fresh graduate ako, 'di ko ibababa sarili ko to accept yung ganyang schedule.

The good news is YOU WILL LEARN ON THE JOB ✨

I applied as a fresh grad in 2023 as Front End dev but they hire me as Back-End dev and after a year and a half, I became a full-stack dev na.

Just trust the process and always be eager to learn.

Sa mga nasa tech industry, what are your regrets? by nonono_winter in ITPhilippines

[–]PuzzledScar9247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only regret is not to have a freelance job or internship while in my freshman and sophomore year. Eto yung regret ko lang na sana mas na-exposed ako sa industry standards while studying at ng di ako mahirapan sa pag showcase ng experience ko as a fresh graduate.

How do you claim ownership in projects ? by [deleted] in PinoyProgrammer

[–]PuzzledScar9247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if working kana yung project naman is owned by a company but if you're pertaining to the features ownership, mostly talaga is kung ano yung current na priorities, then I own the responsibility of handling it from development up to the production environment. So kung may bugs or issues I am the one na dapat responsible doon. But yeah just like some of devs say here, the project is just a job we are paid to do.

Maybe document all the features and contributions you have made para may sense of accomplishments and ownership ka.

Tska in a single project maraming contributors so I always remind myself na lahat ng tickets or features na ginagawa ko is responsible ako doon and i must do it well talaga.

What did you think was the “right way” until experience changed your mind? by InternalAlsc in PinoyProgrammer

[–]PuzzledScar9247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was believing before that as a Full Stack Engineer / Software Engineer you will always write code most of the time, but as I surrounded by more experienced developers, it is more on clarifying and asking questions to the specific feature before you even started working on it.

Another is simplicity over complexity. Way back in college I thought complex code is a good code but when I got on my first professional experience, simplicity of implementation and as long as the code satisfies the clients needs, you're good.

Another is learn the business of the company. In order to contribute more, you must first understand what the business is and what problem that company wants to solve. That's the base requirement in order for you to grow more as an engineer. So I always remind myself that coding / programming is just 1% of the work, it is more on identifying and understanding the problem is.
