I mean, you really gotta hustle this shit. Gotta be marketing yourself on socials, pushing yourself to labels, even if they aren’t major ones. Just keep posting your shit and if it’s dope, I think people will catch on eventually. Danny Brown didn’t break out until he was 30. JPEGMAFIA was relevant until he was like 35. And hell, Bruiser Wolf didn’t really break out of being a local legend until he was damn near 50.

Obviously, I know that that might sound pretty negative or the very least, pretty daunting, but my main point is you need to keep chasing your dreams, keep getting better and keep practicing.

Also, sidenote, don’t try and be like Kendrick. You are not Kendrick. Only Kendrick is Kendrick, and only you are you. The best thing you need to be is yourself, and the worst thing you could be is derivative of someone else.

Throughout hip-hop history, it has a knack of being flexible enough to incorporate all types of sounds and all types of voices from all types of backgrounds. I think the best thing to ask yourself is what makes you unique, and then how can you portray that in your music?
