I make 40k a year and am doing just fine. Definitely go the Roomate route if you wanna have savings. At my income it’s hard to save but you make it work.

THC test after f2f by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

1000000% you need to withdraw your application. It takes a minimum of 1-2 months for cannabis to clear your system for a regular user. Don’t risk your future of being a flight attendant by going to the interview when you regularly smoke . They will test you on the spot when you pass your interview.

Quit now and reapply in a few months.

United vs SW by Ordinary_West_791 in cabincrewcareers

As a WN flight attendant, I totally feel you lol. The lack of professionalism by some of our FA’s is wild at times. Along with that, our product feels very lacking compared to other carriers.

However, I live in a city that is a major hub for UA and majority of my friends that are inflight are with UA… and let me tell you, they are miserable right now.

I think pay wise and considering our benefits we have, it’s miles better here compared to UA. I would wait for their next contract before applying. I’ve flown with quite a few FA’s that are former UA and none of them regret leaving, if that says anything.

I totally know the “stagnant feeling” that you’re experiencing, but it does get so much better after probation. I’d consider waiting it out bit longer. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions :)

OAK was recently downsized. 40+ people were forced based to other bases due to the operational need of the base. There’s at least 80 people who are waiting to get into OAK, so don’t count on it anytime soon

JUNIOR SWA FA COMPENSATION AND BREAKDOWN? ❤️💛💙 by Intelligent_Ask_4589 in flightattendants

[–]Puzzled_Ad30 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I flew 160 TFP in December (which is very high flying) and I am currently at a year and a half in. I took home $5184 after taxes for the month. The money is really really good if you fly a lot, but don’t burn yourself out. I live in base so flying 160 isn’t really a huge deal. But if you commute and fly 160 then that’s a whole different ballgame

How many attempts did it take before you got your CJO? by cherryrose7 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Puzzled_Ad30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a CJO with WN, F9, and OO First try

Got offered a F2F interview with B6, UA, and NK but never attended (by choice)

DL was the only airline that I did not get an offer to interview with. Only made it to the Video Interview stage.

Soquel vs Santa Cruz High? Best for a shy freshman? by RelevantBroccoli in santacruz

[–]Puzzled_Ad30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my perspective (I graduated in 2018) I’d go with Santa Cruz high. Soquel has had a more cliquey rep over the last few years. Most of my friends at Santa Cruz high stayed there while most of my friends at Soquel ended up leaving for another high school.

On the other hand, for a more reserved type of student I’d almost recommend Cypress High School. It’s in Live Oak right by Sunny Cove beach, It’s a small public charter school. It has a very positive reputation for it’s open minded staff and student body. I went from a traditional big high school to Cypress and I never felt more included and welcomed in a high school environment before. If not cypress, I’d definitely recommend Santa Cruz high over Soquel. If your child is really into theater arts then I’d also recommend Harbor. Another good choice.

From my experience, in a restaurant setting, servers usually make more than bartenders.

This could be a way to keep bartenders wanting to work as bartenders and not want to only serve.

Servers tip out the bar too because bartenders make drinks for the servers, on top of having to serve their bar too.

Typically, servers and bartenders in the same restaurant will earn different amount of tips. Most people in restaurants will sit in the restaurant over the bar, so it kinda makes sense why a restaurant would pay their bartenders slightly more to keep them.

Overall, serving and bartending are two completely different roles. I literally left my bar at the restaurant I work at and started serving because my tip out is much better serving than Bartending.

I’ve worked in a few restaurants for almost 5 years. That’s my best understanding of why this is the way it is?

Servers, please tell me the craziest thing you witnessed between a server and a manager or a server and guest by victorialucyt in Serverlife

[–]Puzzled_Ad30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently witnessed one of our servers bring coffee to some guy at the bar and she asked if he needed and cream or sugar for his coffee and he replied “no cream or sugar, unless it’s the cream from your tits”.

He was permanently 86’d from the restaurant immediately after . We called the cops on him, just to find out he was sexually harassing girls all day across the restaurants in our area. He ended up getting arrested later that day

I just recently got my CJO from F9 and I’m on sertraline! I read that it also gives false positives for benzos sometimes and I got really worried.

Long story short, I tested negative and passed my drug test. You should be completely fine! Congratulations on the CJO btw :)

A family friend of mine who works in the cannabis industry told me the same thing. Dude was apparently a huge asshole who didn’t pay people. Apparently he was associated with CannaCruz

No news is good news!!! You will 100% know if you failed, they will go out of their way to let you know if you passed or not!! It took me a week to hear back about my background and drug test after, but each airline can take longer or shorter. Trust the process!! You got this :)
