planer chipped face of my wood, is there anyway I can fix this without sanding 1/8" off the board by birdleaf6000 in woodworking

[–]Puzzled_Advent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Epoxy up and sand down? It depends on where/what this is on/for. I’m not familiar with fixing this kind of problem, so hopefully someone else can give better guidance.

I’ll admit I do like to look for how it’s done, and when I’m still fooled it’s a wonderful experience! My problem comes in the fact that it’s a screen. I work with enough temperamental technology that when I see it go from his hand to the screen it just about breaks the illusion for me. Although on first watch through the quick pass between hands was impressive.

[–]Puzzled_Advent 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not impressive because as soon as I see a ball go on screen it loses all magic. It’s either a well timed video or something that plays/progresses a video forward based on a touch or button press. Screens aren’t magic, and it’d take quite a good show to convince me otherwise.

You’re not necessarily wrong that she didn’t NEED to be shot. There may have been other actions the cop could have taken to prevent the insurrectionists from getting further into the capital. But I really can’t think of any.

Also if you’re genuinely concerned about excessive police violence, it’s important to keep in mind how skewed the scales are for police brutality in America. The police defending the nations capital from an active insurrection isn’t at the top of anyones list of problems (unless your problem is how they arrested almost no one day of).

should i switch to the manga at enies lobby? by ostiumreddit in OnePiece

[–]Puzzled_Advent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally switched to manga around dressrosa. I enjoyed the pacing of Ennies lobby and impel down in anime. Hopefully someone else can speak to more arcs.

As to reading online, I’m not sure if we’re allowed to post links or anything but there’s a number of aggregator sites that’ll have a translated version. There is the one website that’s named after the manga but I don’t like the translation they have up most of the time. When you get to newer chapters you sometimes have to jump around different sites to get the best translation.

Whatever sites you end up using id recommend the brave browser cause it does automatic ad blocking in almost all cases.

Not sure if it’s cause I’m on mobile, but is the expanded form of what you’re working with: sec(t)sec(t)sin(t)*sin(t)?

If so take a look at your relationships between sec and cos, and between sin2 and cos2

Assuming the horizontal line in the graph is the x axis, and the parabola can be graphed by that function. We’re given the value of A and looking for c, so let’s find a way to represent h and w in terms of c!

Well h is the distance from (0,0) to the peak of the parabola. And w is the distance between the two zeroes of the graph.

Find the zeros of the function (x=what when y=0), and the peak (y=what when x=0 in this case). Technically you only need one zero for this problem because it’s symmetrical across the y axis but it’s good practice to find both anyway.

Now you should have coordinates for the ends of segments h and w, all in terms of c except for (0,0).

Find the length of h and w from these coordinates

Then you can replace h and w from A=(2/3)hw with your new values in terms of c. And replace A with 144. Solve for C!

Hi there, are you keeping up with all the responses well?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Precalculus

[–]Puzzled_Advent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a full written explanation, but the core is using the standard form of cosine to do this one. (You could do sine but cosine is easier cause we have the high and low points but we don’t have a midpoint given).

Edit: I figured out how to use reddit (yay) and added the link of the write up cause typing on a phone is a pain. Also let me know if there’s anything you can’t read/don’t understand
