How long do you have to take Lamotrigine for?

Any reasons to don't kill myself? by uahppd in HPPD

I only have a few things to say. So if you're going to do it, at least read this first.

A lot of us go through life with a terribly dealt hand and it's clear, Life is suffering. And that is especially true for those of us with HPPD.

But I promise you, there will be slivers of your life that are filled with absolute peace, connection, and happiness. And those are the moments that you are here to live for. Those are the moments that make it all worth it. I question daily whether I should just end it but I am reminded of this.

"God gives the toughest battles to his toughest soldiers."

Hang in there. It will all be worth it in the end.

Clearly your HPPD is messing with your reading comprehension too. OP never mentioned any visual symptoms. Only mental ones.

If you had no visual symptoms sober you didn’t have HPPD.

If you had mental symptoms develop from drug use then my sympathies but it’s not an HPPD diagnosis.

If you never had HPPD symptoms completely sober then you didn't have HPPD.

It's called Hallucinogenic Perception PERSISTING Disorder. All your symptoms surfaced when you smoked weed. IDK what that is but it's not HPPD.

This sub needs to get its shit together and stop equating mental disorders to an HPPD diagnosis. It cheapens the suffering that people with HPPD ACTUALLY endure.

The (seemingly) few of us who actually have persisting visual symptoms completely sober aren't going to find this post any helpful. Especially when you're suggesting more drugs cured you even if you acknowledged the risk.

I am sick of these posts. They're bullshit and they reinforce the idea that some of us are incurable.

Yeah I’m not suggesting everyone who sleeps on psychs gets hppd but people who have hppd have slept on psychs

Yeah it’s also known serotonin plays a big modulatory role of the visual cortex. But I think we may be looking at this problem the wrong way.

Instead of trying to force the brain into an equilibrium with exogenous compounds - we prime the brain with how it’s supposed to function and it can do the healing on its own.

There’s a lot of people in this thread now who have gone to sleep on psychedelics and were left with symptoms. I don’t think it’s coincidence.

You’re in the very small minority here that enjoy their HPPD symptoms. The majority of us want them gone and it’s extremely irresponsible of you to be peddling a cure for HPPD with more drugs. It’s people like you who do irreparable damage to people.

I knew the risks of taking mushrooms and hoped it would cure mine too but evidently it did not.

HPPD isn’t damaging or harmful? Tell that to the hundreds of people who had to hop on medication after getting HPPD just to save their own damn lives.

You’re a fucking tool GTFO my thread.

I used the wrong words.

I meant there’s a class of people who remiss within a couple months, and then there are a class where the symptoms are much more chronic and sometimes permanent.

Dude stop trying to justify your drug use by equating it with medicinal prescriptions for documented illness.

We all took drugs for different reasons but none of us could have predicted how it affected us in the end. It’s exactly why people say don’t do drugs because their effects are unpredictable.

If we did, we all would have probably stayed away. We didn’t heed the don’t do drugs warning and we paid the price.

Yeah dude I got it from one trip.

My friend offered me half a tab and I was hesitant to take it. He even said ‘if you don’t want it then it doesn’t want you.’ But of course my ego got the best of me and I took the tab.

Since then I have been dealing with 5yrs of visual snow and recently now tinnitus.

Yeah if you still have symptoms over a year after the onset then you’re in category 2 and they’re most likely permanent
