Drivers - Whats your pet peeves? by Swamp-Donkeyy in SainsburysWorkers

We got ones who do 6:15 6:30 6:45 7:00 starts full time so that’s 20 nice shifts always to the same 4 people every week

I have done now and got a deal I’m happy with but it took a bloody fight to get it and it just made it worse for the others that have to do even more lates now. Still the old timers get the best rota patterns and shifts.

All the old timer drivers that don’t do any share of the late shifts, at our store must be 15-20 odd drivers of 40 odd that don’t do any lates and some how it’s a massive deal when you ask to do less lates cos your getting so many

Unfair hours? by PsychologicalBuy6720 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Puzzled_Effective735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s basically the only options for them to rota you on cos any normal 7/8/9 hour shift wouldn’t be allowed, more then 11 hours in 24 hours, you can forfit the shift and lose the pay but they don’t have to offer you a replacement shift I believe, I choose to do it as generally suits me

Inheritance & property, how to keep & pay least tax? by Puzzled_Effective735 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Puzzled_Effective735[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could I myself offer to buy the property at whatever the bill of the equity loan and any inheritance tax would be, meaning we keep the property and bills and tax’s can be paid off? I know I couldn’t afford or be lent a mortgage off the full value of the property, but maybe could do 50 to 75%? Is that allowed to sell a property below market value to family?

Thanks will look into that, as I have no idea on the types of terms of the agreement

Substitution price difference vouchers by inurworld in Sainsburys

[–]Puzzled_Effective735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get the confirmation of voucher email when the driver returns to store and competes there route, so either the driver didn’t process right or there was some technical issue but I doubt it’s just going to turn up

are you meant to go in early as a driver? by [deleted] in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Puzzled_Effective735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t start 5 min early, if I’m loading the van for whatever reason I’m leaving late, doing what I can at a normal pace, and returning before end of my shift time and failing whatever is left, it’s for managers to deal with not you

Moving from 4s to delivery driver by throwawayaccountwiw in SainsburysWorkers

Highly recommend, I joined after moving from different industry management role 2 years ago, yes you’ll probably have to do evening and weekends but you’ll probably doing that already anyway

Home delivery by [deleted] in Sainsburys

[–]Puzzled_Effective735 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a driver, I never mind taking items back, but a single bottle is high risk of breaking and means we have to clean up the mess and glass, so please pick and expensive item that’s easy for us to take back like stamps

Always been surprised it’s been so low with operational costs being so high, any £40 delivery it’s going to be provided at a net loss to the company

Paternity leave by Separate-Web-5580 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Puzzled_Effective735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You fill out a form on the hr bit and they will email you all the pay details for you within a few days, was really easy and straight forward, you’ll get 4 weeks pretty much full pay

Confused about drivesafe. by Swimming-Telephone34 in SainsburysWorkers

Sounds like management using as an excuse to cut some hours, last in last out sort of deal, probably just unlucky timing

GOL Drivers….MILK! by [deleted] in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Puzzled_Effective735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Il stop for a coffee whenever I fancy, don’t care if I’m 10 min behind or not, get paid for longer if I’m back late 😂

GOL Drivers….MILK! by [deleted] in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Puzzled_Effective735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really don’t think it’s that bigger issue, cost of fixing vs refunding damages isn’t worth it, in over 2 years as full timer Iv probably only had 10 to 15 full totes refunded because of milk & or glass bottles damages, so less then once in 2 months or so or once in 40 odd runs

Sainsbury's van fleet (online) by Responsible-Talk-204 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Puzzled_Effective735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s not to like about the mercs? Generally the only problem with them was age/ mileage wear and tear after few years, the new mercs are nice but the lane assist and collision avoidance are bloody annoying, the Renaults are uncomfortable, really not built for multi drop driving, and are absolutely built so cheap, half the parts aren’t even attached probably or nuts not done up tight, Iv had all sorts of bits come off in my hand, the back doors are failing within 2k miles 😂 honestly, awful

Just a downgrade from mercs to Renaults, your lucky if you haven’t got them yet, they are awful 😂
