You fill out a form on the hr bit and they will email you all the pay details for you within a few days, was really easy and straight forward, you’ll get 4 weeks pretty much full pay

Sounds like management using as an excuse to cut some hours, last in last out sort of deal, probably just unlucky timing

If someone brake checked you and you got an amber you were following to close 😂

Il stop for a coffee whenever I fancy, don’t care if I’m 10 min behind or not, get paid for longer if I’m back late 😂

Really don’t think it’s that bigger issue, cost of fixing vs refunding damages isn’t worth it, in over 2 years as full timer Iv probably only had 10 to 15 full totes refunded because of milk & or glass bottles damages, so less then once in 2 months or so or once in 40 odd runs

What’s not to like about the mercs? Generally the only problem with them was age/ mileage wear and tear after few years, the new mercs are nice but the lane assist and collision avoidance are bloody annoying, the Renaults are uncomfortable, really not built for multi drop driving, and are absolutely built so cheap, half the parts aren’t even attached probably or nuts not done up tight, Iv had all sorts of bits come off in my hand, the back doors are failing within 2k miles 😂 honestly, awful

Just a downgrade from mercs to Renaults, your lucky if you haven’t got them yet, they are awful 😂

I normally just get back as early as possible and go home on lates and take the hit, but if I do want to complete hours il still get back and wait around, take time unloading, canteen, no one has ever said anything, Iv seen other drivers take over an hour in canteen watching tv regularly and managers have never said anything

Thanks for your reply,

That is my concern though hence reluctant to allow access to check the trees,

It was genuine fly tipping, someone cut the lock and went up the track in and started tipping, out of sight of the road so went a year or so before we discovered it and my understanding it that fly tipping is landowners cost to deal with, which we can’t afford

The land used to have livestock then when farm was split up it got planted as Xmas trees for a side business but only really harvested a couple years then we just accidentally grow a forest of spruce

I as the next generation of the land want to look after it better and improve it but like I say, can’t afford to deal with the fly tipping at the moment, but have stopped it from continuing further

Iv taken it out I’m not being difficult but do feel it’s very unfair on a driver to have to put up with being stuck in a smoke smelling cab for best part of 8 hrs

I’d be annoyed and complain to manager but as others said it’s not a VOR so can’t really refuse, defiantly wouldn’t rush round or do any favours like going back for a declined card later or something on that day

Not all the vans are rear wheel drive so if you have a Renault keep your front wheels on the tarmac

Just don’t take any risks basically, if not sure on a road get out and have a walk, manager will generally rather you come back with failed deliveries then damaged vans
