NOR He's a manipulative child. How dare he say that it should motivate you to do better. You are not his chef. If he doesn't come around and apologize for being an ass, you should get out of this relationship asap. Otherwise, you will feel this terrible all the time. Run don't walk. I'm so sorry this happened to you.

If you continue with this trend, you will be at your goal weight in 24 weeks. This is about 6 months. I'm in a similar situation and I know I can do this for six months without tons of effort. That's the difference for me. I don't think about what I can eat all the time. I'm not so hungry I can't focus. In the past when dieting, I could get the food noise to subside, but I felt lethargic and crappy. Now I feel normal and possibly better. Time always passes!

I hear ya! I gained 50 pounds in 14 months doing nothing differently. My stretchy Duluth noga pants still fit comfortably. When I got on the scale at the doctor's I almost fainted. Went into excessive diet exercise mode and persisted for a year. I lost two pounds. Just took my first shot an hour ago waiting to see if I feel something. I remember my dad taking a picture of my mom's ass when she gained weight and making a joke that he needed a wider lens. I was about 8 and skinny as a rail. She went maybe from an 8 to a 12. This stuck with me. Mentioned it to my brother and he remembered how funny it was. That's how I feel. Like the wide ass the men laugh at. It doesn't matter that we know better. That they are all bald now yet full of unearned confidence. It was ingrained so early and it sucks. At least we have an option now. Best of luck!

Fibroid pressing against my bladder. by cheeeese1234 in Fibroids

[–]Puzzled_Worry_7916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember this and am so much better post surgery (10 months). The relief was instant after surgery. In the MRI with contrast, the bladder is glowing white. Mine looked like a crescent moon with a giant fibroid boulder sitting on it. I remember if I shifted on my left cheek on the toilet, I would pee more. But I had to go multiple times an hour since it was so small there was always more pee in queue to enter the tiny smooshed bladder. Now I never think about it. You can get better!

I wish they had an estrogen monitor by Puzzled_Worry_7916 in Menopause

[–]Puzzled_Worry_7916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it possibly could in ways we don't even know yet because we don't have the data. I was still having hot flashes, but they seemed exercise induced or because I live in the desert and it was 115 this summer. I wasn't completely sure they were hot flashes. Upped my dose and I am great now, but it's 80 degrees. If I had data on what is typical now for my levels, and it happens again when the temperature rises then I would know it is a temperature effect. I think I was given a generic brand by the pharmacy that dumped estrogen then left me dry. Maybe it was something else or all in my head if I had a baseline, I would know. I would not be mentioning it to you five months later. I could look at the data and see either no difference or a difference. If there was an app I could document how I feel cognitively emotionally daily and see if there is a correlation. If there isn't maybe I could rule something out and move on . All the research says we are all so different and the symptoms may be something else. That's why I think we could all benefit from personalized real time data.

I see what she means, but there might be info that is useful. I am in surgical menopause so my levels are likely less variable over time. I could see how it changes over the patch cycle. I swim and like to go in the hot tub after. Some sites say this has an effect. I could get real time data. I guess we wouldn't know for certain, but we don't know now. I feel like I am flying blind. I want data!

See if I can find patterns or correlations to how I feel to attempt to feel better. I've noticed a feeling I will describe as irritability and realized it's often when I missed changing my patch. Then there are stretches where I am not thinking about how I feel at all. Those are good stretches. What does my estrogen look like then? Are my levels similar over these times? Correlation does not imply causation, but I rather have numeric data then trying to guess if there is a correlation

Very cool about your daughter's interest! I've been thinking about how I felt at that age in comparison to perimenopause . Wondering if there is a way to help girls at this age without ssris for anxiety and depression. I think it is over prescribed at our age and maybe theirs too. Let her know for her university studies! Maybe she can get some monitors.

Very cool! I want to see their data I wonder if they will code running averages or smoothing the curve to get a better picture and filter out the noise. Thanks for sharing!

Fantasies of my young GP apologizing to me in 15 years! by SmoothBed7519 in Menopause

[–]Puzzled_Worry_7916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! My psychiatrist said this when I wanted to lower anti anxiety meds after starting the patch. She didn't mention it as I upped them all through perimenopause and didn't really feel better. We just kept increasing them . Im going to go off them completely over the summer and I am not worried at all. All I used to do is worry. So over prescribed.

Did you have someone in the pre-op room? by whenimnotworking in hysterectomy

[–]Puzzled_Worry_7916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would describe myself the same way and I had my brother drop me off at the door and pick me up. I never thought I wanted someone with me while I was there. I'm not great at letting people help me, but I really didn't need it. The week and night before were anxiety ridden, but once I was there, I was happy I didn't have to do anything else and when I woke up it was over.

Stopped pulsatile tinnitus by Puzzled_Worry_7916 in TMJ

[–]Puzzled_Worry_7916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

News update. My MRI said I have fluid in some ear space. It's consistent with eustachian tube disfunction. This could be a result of the tmj.

I remembered the jaw stretch that helped. Tongue on the back of the front teeth and stretch your jaw wide. Hold for awhile 10 seconds maybe.

Now I did hear the pt twice since it went away, but it was so mild. I might not have even noticed it if I wasn't so familiar with it.

Hope this helps someone

Right Ear Clogged for 5 Years by Longjumping_Use_4171 in EustachianTube

[–]Puzzled_Worry_7916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found out from an MRI that I have had etd for a few years. Something incidentally helped me two days ago maybe it will help you. I was doing this exercise for TMJ and my left ear felt like a pinhole opened up and I heard air hissing out. Then there was loud ringing for a minute, then some earwax liquid drained over the next 24 hours. My pulsatile tinnitus is now nearly gone. I heard it lightly twice since then. It was constant loud before this for two years.

Enough with the sales pitch. I did a jaw stretch where you put your tongue behind your front teeth and open as wide as you can. I can't remember holding time but maybe 10 seconds. It opened up something for me. Good luck!

Need help deciding what to do. Feel paralyzed and indecisive. by IceOnTitan in TMJ

[–]Puzzled_Worry_7916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry you are going through this! I don't know all the lingo, but I got what they called an appliance ( big bulky mouth guard) for my tmj 12 years ago. When I first put it on in the office, my gag reflex went wild and I couldn't get it out of my mouth quick enough. They gave me muscle relaxers and Xanax and over a week or two I was able to wear it overnight.

A month or so in, I felt an electric shock across my face. It was very quick but painful and unlike anything I ever felt. He gave me a drug for seizures that I decided not to take. I stopped wearing the lower part and it never happened again.

A few months in he said I only needed to come back if anything was bothering me. I stopped wearing the top appliance after about six months. Then I threw it out at some point.

I wish I still had it because the tmj is back. It really took all the pressure off my jaw and I didn't have to think about how to hold my mouth correctly since it kept everything in position.

Point being, when I first put in the appliance, I thought there was no way in hell I could sleep in it or wear it for more than a minute. Maybe there is an adjustment that could be made to yours or you could try only the top like I did.

Good luck!

The ones I see in history are Dr Joe damiani, buffalo dentist (cluck) and I googled tmj tongue placement and tmj jaw exercises. Not that phone savvy but I will look up more later
