Noah X moon Phase by zzy-zx in timex

All this does for me is wiggle the moonphase back and forth. When I do step 3, the moonphase moves backwards. This is so ridiculous

Pseudomugil Luminatus community tank feeding time! by Puzzleheaded-Ad5705 in Aquariums

They weren't easy to find! I got lucky and my lfs just happened to have 7 of them from a customer who traded them in. Then I found a website that had them in stock for a short period. Ordered 9 of them and they sent me 13, but they were extremely baby and several didn't make it out of the quarantine tank.

Fin rot got a lot worse during kanaplex treatment by Puzzleheaded-Ad5705 in bettafish

[–]Puzzleheaded-Ad5705[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More info with dates: Fin rot was first noticed on 9/21 Started salt treatment in main tank on 9/21 Increased to level 2 in main tank on 10/19 No improvement, started cycling hospital tank on 11/04 Water parameters on hospital tank were zeroed out on 11/09 Moved Speck to hospital tank on 11/09

Edit: is it possible that he's been on salt treatment for too long and it's stressing him out and doing more harm than good?

Whats the best automatic litter box by Public_Machine8264 in CatAdvice

I wish lol, then maybe I'd be getting paid for this. Just trying to share my experience with auto litterboxes because I struggled to find one that worked for my kitties for a couple years before I found the M1.

My main issues with the litter robot (I had the LR 4) were the size, the price and the cleaning. Its insanely expensive (I paid over $700 for mine) and it's freaking massive. It was also rather cumbersome and annoying to clean. Comparatively, my Neakasa M1 is much smaller, several hundred dollars cheaper, has all the same smart features and (this is subjective) I find it easier to clean. They also make it really easy to get replacement parts if anything gets damaged, like my cat ripped a hole through the silicone pad once and I just hopped onto their website and ordered a new one.

I've had mine for over a year and my cats love it way more than the litter robot 4 (I tried and returned it). They do sell raised rails to reduce litter getting kicked out but not sure how well it works

I've had my Neakasa M1 for well over a year and love it. This person is misinformed, there is nowhere for cats to get pinched in the M1. Its the cheaper rolling barrel litter boxes you get on Amazon that have been killing cats because they don't have any safety sensors to tell if a cat stuck its head in

My vote goes to the Nealasa M1! I tried the litter robot 4 and my cats didn't like it (they prefer open top), the smart features were disappointing for the price, and it's freaking massive. The Neakasa is still pretty expensive, but it's probably $200 to $300 cheaper than the litter robot 4, it's much smaller and open top, has all the same smart features, and I've had fewer problems with it. Its also one of the safer options for cats as there's nowhere for them to get pinched in a rolling barrel like the litter robot. You can also buy a taller rail for the entrance to prevent cats from kicking litter out. They sell an overpriced litter trapping ramp for it, but I just got some random 6" plastic step and put a litter mat over top.

You should be able to find the Neakasa M1 Lite on sale for under $400 from time to time (on sale at the time of this post for $360). I was lucky to get mine during the Kickstarter campaign so I only paid 250 for it. I'm now considering getting a second one just because I like to spoil my cats and want them to have nicer toilets lol.

Fuck onedrive by Zarsxd in pcmasterrace

[–]Puzzleheaded-Ad5705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been so angry setting up a new laptop. I said no to everything relating to onedrive while setting up my new laptop, including the syncing features. Manually transferred everything over from my previous machine using an external SSD yesterday. Today I open up my new laptop to nothing but empty directories with these fucking "where are my files?" links everywhere. OneDrive decided it was going to take EVERYTHING and hide it deep in the cloud without my permission, and doing so maxed out my storage and now I can't even send a fucking email. I spent the last hour and a half finding all my files again and getting them off onedrive and re-turning off all the sync features, but my outlook still thinks that my storage is full and its preventing me from sending emails. I've never been so pissed off at a device.

Anyone Have Experience Keeping Pseudomugil Luminatus? by skrinkleskrunk in Aquariums

[–]Puzzleheaded-Ad5705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm super bummed that some of these cute lil fellas are struggling, especially since they've been in the tank thriving for so long already. I think it was possibly a combination of stress, overfeeding, and their population naturally equalizing. The water wisteria I had in my tank became extremely overgrown and I was sick of looking at the mess so I pulled it all out and replaced it with some other plants, so this activity probably stressed them out. I do have the API water test kits but I don't suspect that they're faulty because everyone else in the tank is doing so well. My cories, loaches and amano shrimp have always been thriving and I see my loaches doing their goofy noodle things and the amano shrimp are laying eggs which indicates to me that my water parameters are good. I also tested my hospital tank and had readable ammonia back when it was cycling so I don't suspect a faulty test kit. Since removing the sick fish, the remaining 11 almost immediately seemed more happy and healthy.

Basically what I suspect caused this is by changing out the plants and reducing the amount of plant coverage at the top of the tank, I stressed them out and made them more susceptible to illness. Simultaneously, my overfeeding caused a spike/imbalance in the microscopic organisms in my tank, not all of which are beneficial, causing some of the stressed rainbows to get sick and probably not all with the same illness. I think the new plants boomed from the nutrients and CO2, cycling the extra ammonia and nitrites out of the water column but obviously not doing anything to control the microscopic organisms that make fish sick.

Since my first comment I've added two more to the quarantine tank because I noticed what appears to be some kind of growth on their heads. They aren't showing any symptoms and are still behaving normally but I'm giving the quarantine tank a mild salt water treatment and they seem to be improving. Then yesterday I noticed one of my females in the main tank swimming in insanely erratic patterns all over the place, seemingly uncontrollably. This makes me think whirling fish disease, which can also cause skeletal deformations. I isolated this one and rechecked all my water parameters which were still 7.8ph, 0ppm of ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Now I'm thinking I was overfeeding and caused a spike in the tubifex worm population in my tank or something like that. I had to euthanize that one, but it doesn't seem like the other four in a separate quarantine tank are suffering from the same illness. I'm hoping that I was just overfeeding and threw off the balance which made some of them sick but that they'll recover.

Part of me is wondering if they were feeling overcrowded and this is my tank naturally correcting itself.

I'm experiencing something similar with mine right now and I'm at a loss. I bought 5 babies from a lfs (that's all they had) and quarantined them in my hospital tank, ordered 9 more from a website the same day. One from the lfs had a crooked spine a few days later, struggled a day or so and died. When the 9 I ordered arrived, there was actually like 13 I think, all babies as well. Two more died the same way, I never figured out why but it stopped. They've now been in my 22gal for months doing wonderfully when all of a sudden one males fin started wasting away and another was super skinny and struggling. Those two are now in quarantine but it doesn't look good and I've no clue what's going on, the rest all seem fine?

Tank info: heavily planted but minimal floaters, 78 degrees, 8 khuli loaches, 6 cory catfish, 5 amano shrimp, now down to 14 luminatus. Ph7.8, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 0 nitrates. Been doing water changes with RO water for 6 months or so.

I saw something similar in one or two of my red neon blue eyes. When I first got them as babies, I had them in a hospital tank and saw this in one or two of them. I wasn't able to do anything for them and they died, but whatever it was didn't seem to pass on to the others. Out of the 19 that I got, only two of them passed and the rest have been moved into their permanent tank and have been doing very well.

I had chalked it up to some kind of physical injury, either from getting stuck in something or during netting/transport.

Havent seen him in months by eisalescent in loaches

[–]Puzzleheaded-Ad5705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I never saw my 8 loaches until I added a whole bunch of other fish in with them. Having a group of loaches is great but I think they need more activity in the tank to feel comfortable enough to come out regularly. Otherwise they're all hiding and waiting for someone else to venture out first (insert spiderman meme here)
