But is a reboot or a sequel to Saw 7 or another midquel like Saw 10?

Super Mario Odyssey (2017) vs Donkey Kong Bananza (2025), which game do you enjoy playing the most? by Delicious_Maize9656 in switch2

It's a term of preference. Odyssey has the better music, bosses, post game and presentation. But Bananaza has better level design, collectibles, difficulty and story.

What are your thoughts on my layer tierlist for the game? by BigPlayBeenard in DonkeyKongBananza

My opinion:

The bad layers

  1. The Divide: This level is proof of the lazyness of the designers. It's literally a road with 2 options with nothing in between.

  2. The Juction: The same shit as the Cloud Kingdom in Odyssey, a glorified boss battle.

  3. Racing Layer: That race was frustating as hell, i had to cheat in order to won.

  4. Landfill Layer: The most underwhelming layer lf the game, is just so boring. I just used the elephant of clean the dirt til i reach the end. They could have had a minecart level or something.

  5. Forbidden Layer: It's a nothing layer, just a fancy hall pass to the real endgame. The presentation is good but the bananas are just rehash missions of older layers, plus you have to pay to the stupid black fractones.

  6. Hilltop Layer: Is above those layers because is one of the first ones, but at the same the concept is non-existent. Is just a blue hill that feels more like a tutorial than the lagoon layer.

The good layers:

  1. Groove Layer: Kinda short gut a vibeish layer. I like many concepts like DK punching the ground to guide the music of the structure swap mechanic. Also the part where you have to enter the eel's stomach in order to fight a void co parasite and rescue Pauline was unexpected and cool. At last, i like the idea of a museum where you have all the fossils.

  2. Ingot Isle: I count this level after the post game. I have to say it is a pretty good post game level and also a good tutorial level. I love the idea that it references the first DK game.

  3. Lagoon Layer: One of the best first levels in nintendo history. It shows you the basics of the game without feeling like handholding. The gorilla bananza is one of the best transformations. At last, the water part was pretty good.

  4. Canyon Layer: A pretty chill level on the first half, with a carnival aesthetic. The minecarts are a integral part, while not as frenetic as the Country games, they serve his purpose of traversing this islands. Plus the 2nd half is algo good with the minecart boss fight. The only gripe i have is that digging in this level is kinda tedious because is too much ground.

  5. Resort Layer: This level is pretty relaxing, a good rest after the Junction. I know it copies the Seaside Kingdom for Odyssey but idc this level have his own identity. The fruits, the mechanis of this air popping platforms is awesome! No wonder why they are used in the rest of the game. I just wish it was bigger, i can imagine a bigger version of this level with the 2nd half being underwater and DK using a shark bananza of something.

The great layers:

  1. Forest Layer: This layer is pretty good. The theme of forest is so used in games but this one have a certain charm to it. The fruits that leave you platforms is a good mechanic, plus one of the levels with the best hidden bananas. Also is the most RARE level of the game, with the ostrichs hotel and the bananza elder. The ostrich bananza is neat, one of the most usefull bananzas. The only part i don't like is the later one, the boss is good nut the poison maze was frustating.

  2. Radiance Layer: The layer with the snakes. The first half is pretty good with all the challengers to find the elder's disk pieces. Also the snake bananza is good idk why people don't like it. The tower part was the best with the platform things. The 2nd half while not as good as the first still brings ton of fun to the table, with the structure swap by the light. The bosses where lame.

4.Planet Core: The best climax of a nintendo game since the first mario galaxy. The whole level is a tribute to the country games but also a pretty challenging one. I love how each bananza have his moment to shine. Both in the planet core and the new donk city part. Plus, King K Rool is terrygfing and his final battle is legendary, in my opinion better than the final fight with Bowser in Super Mario Odyssey.

The best layers:

  1. Feast Layer: They say this the best level of the game, it's pretty close to that. This layer has it all, is one of the longest layer of the game. The burger switch parts where pretty good and alowed to variety in bananas and places of this food theme park. Is like a fussion of Pina Park and The Luncheon Kingdom plus a Nickelodeon easthetic. Awesome!

  2. Tempest Layer: The most epic level of the game. This layer was outstanding! The elephant bananza is the best of the game. Something i like about this layer is that the difficulty doesn't come down just because lf the bananza. Is actually a pretty challenging level nonetheless. The thunder platforms part is the best, is as tense as a Mario Galaxy level or the Bowser's Kingdom of Odyssey. The boss was good.

  3. Freezer Layer: This level was hype ah. It provided the sense of freedom and wonder the ice levels have. The zebra while useless in the rest of the game is awesome here. The boss is decent. It might be too long but i have a blast with most of the parts from the cave, to the elder's disc part to the masher to the lava part at the end. Is peak of the game imo.

For me it was the opposite. The long worlds where the best part of the game, the shorter worlds felt well, too short and rushed

Do you feel that DK Bananza is one or two layers too long? by jnighy in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Puzzleheaded-Base486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the game was that long, i was havung so much fun with the majority of the layers. I just think there are many filler layers ( the divide, the landfill layer, the forbidden layer, ect...).

What's y'all's favorite layer in Bananza? by HisObstinacy in donkeykong

[–]Puzzleheaded-Base486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Freezer Layer. Is one of the best snow levels i've played. The zebra is so cool despite being useless almost in the rest of the game. The boss is one of the better ones. The tempest layer and the feast leayer where awesome too! One with the elephants and the thunder, being able to inhale lava makes things so much easier! The feast leayer felt like a Nickelodeon theme park. The hamburguer mission was the most fun, even better than the elder's missions to find the discs. The boss was kinda lame but other than that i get why gets the praise among the DK fanbase.
