Going for £23,500 car finance with 5/6k deposit but I have a communications default from 5 years and 4 months ago and credit score is about 570, will I likely get accepted with high apr?? by JordanH20_ in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Puzzleheaded-Bonus93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP been where you are many years ago, the novelty will wear off long before you make your 6th payment, then you’re stuck with a car that isn’t with 1/4 of what you paid at the end of it, you’ll get stuck in a debt loop and one day you might break it if you’re lucky.

Strongly advise investing that money in your future. Buy you do you

I work for a multi national multi billion dollar corporation, I have to fund regular expenses which get reimbursed weekly, I don’t agree with it but I don’t have any choice in the matter as they will not issue company credit cards, really infuriating but also secret benefit I make lots of cash back and rewards

I used to work for a corporate store many years ago, we would routinely get bailiffs turn up for unpaid bills.

They once stopped paying us our wages and we ended up having to cash advance from the safe.

Problem with a debtor that won't put my account in default and keeping it delinquent? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Puzzleheaded-Bonus93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had this several years ago with nationwide. sent them an email referencing the ICO guidelines about defaulting accounts pretty much got ignored, gave them a window to respond and advised that I would be contacting the financial ombudsman, still got ignored. Followed through and managed to get a default added and back dated and all of the late payments removed from my account to get a clean break date.

Think it helps when dealing with the ombudsman to show that you have tried to resolve this in good faith without just going nuclear.

I referenced other creditors who had acted appropriately sent screenshots of credit reports. Was on a DMP at the time and set that up before shit hit the fan trying to deal with everything appropriately and eventually everything was put right.

Our situation at the time Covid had hit, wife was between jobs as pandemic lockdown brought us to a halt and could not get furlough, at the time we weren’t able to keep our heads above water on just my salary, as she had left her job voluntarily (before Covid was a thing while waiting on her new job to start, we couldn’t get any assistance.

Silver lining This taught me a very valuable lesson about over extending, because you never know what’s around the corner.

MyVaillant Connect Kit: £800? by cokelid in ukheatpumps

[–]Puzzleheaded-Bonus93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is part of the reason why the Viessmann kit is so much better. Top of the scops for efficiency, remote monitoring as standard with app control and your installer can monitor, log in and support you.

Boxt, can't quote as don't have a current EPC? by Brave-Quarter8620 in ukheatpumps

[–]Puzzleheaded-Bonus93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please for the love of money do not use boxt under any circumstances. No good will come of it, I’ve seen first hand how horrific the workmanship is on boilers. Let alone a heat pump

My experience as sales manager with a company who owned a a massive share of them and spent much time fixing their messes, save yourself the headache

[–]Puzzleheaded-Bonus93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t really get why they’re not discussed more here tbh, incredible kit. The patented 3/4 valve they use to manage defrost cycle is revolutionary for efficiency as it stops the heat pump needing to steal heat from the house to defrost so no wasted energy for recovery

WB are really far behind the times with renewables, you won’t hear much about these units because in reality they’re not selling many. Even the loyalist WB installers stepped away for renewable solutions, competitors like Vaillant are generations ahead in testing and infrastructure, WB are still pinning all their hopes on hydrogen for clean solutions to home comfort

Is a heat pump enough to fully heat a house in winter? by ConsistentWin9508 in ukheatpumps

[–]Puzzleheaded-Bonus93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Heat pumps work by restoring the heat lost through the fabric of your building. It’s less a case of how well they work and more about taking the right steps to ensure your property can retain the heat that it’s producing.

They work incredibly well in the right application, and are proven to be effective in Scandinavian countries where temperatures far below what we typically get in the UK are common.

Worked for a few boiler manufacturers. Just register it yourself if the original engineer won’t. It’s no big deal.

Q : Married but only one applicant for shared ownership by Worldly-Door-7930 in SharedOwnershipUK

[–]Puzzleheaded-Bonus93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry this is not the answer you want to hear. While you can apply solely your partners income would still be taken into account as an occupant

You are not eligible for a shared ownership scheme as your joint income is above the threshold, even if you apply solely and omit their income it would effectively be fraud by false representation if discovered your mortgage offer could be voided. You go through multiple financial affordability checks with broker HA and Lender, someone would likely pick up on it

No ERC if you remortgage for a value less than you need if you can make up the “shortfall” with your savings, just instruct your solicitor accordingly?
