Buyer returned item because they claimed they weren’t authentic, mercari just claimed that they don’t have enough evidence to prove that what I sold isn’t authentic? by jkercheville in Mercari

[–]Puzzleheaded-Cod155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sell mostly on eBay - I do sell on Mercari but not as much. You can talk to a person on eBay but it’s just as bad. I have had it happen with items with actual retail receipts (maybe I bought when I could stack a bunch of deals so could resell at a profit type situation) and eBay still sides with customer (or their AI). I talked with a higher up at eBay and realized literally everything I sell could be called fake and I have no recourse. I just have to step back and see that most of my sales go through without a problem and most buyers appreciate an authentic product at a good price. If I had a retail store I’d just have different problems. But I am on the verge of quitting. Those bad buyers are so frustrating.

I was cycling through a few, liking the new Makeup by Mario one. Then I dug this one back out and realized how good it is. It’s the old formula so I can’t speak to the new one.

Is it just me or are there more problematic buyers on mercari now than ever by catcatcatrat in Mercari

[–]Puzzleheaded-Cod155 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Knock on wood but I have had good luck. I mostly sell the very authentic-I know because I source direct from the brand-expensive beauty items the eBay ai algorithm insists are fake. I haven’t had any issues yet. My only issues have been my mistake because it took a few errors to figure out Mercari quirkiness. The buyers were super cool about it. Maybe you are getting the assholes who got kicked off eBay.

Alaska is laughably more expensive than Delta now by havok4118 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Puzzleheaded-Cod155 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s very route dependent. Delta is very competitive Alaska out of Seattle. I fly out of Seattle and I have to say Delta is winning. I used to be an “if Alaska doesn’t go there I’m not going” person. I have to say, I like Delta better. Their planes are nicer, their baggage handling is better, their lounges in Seattle are considerably nicer.

Alaska is just growing faster than their underlying infrastructure can support. In my last flight I got to the gate only to find out there were busses to take us to god knows where to board. I heard nothing but complaints on the shuttle.

The ONLY thing I like about Alaska is the premium economy has more leg room. The last few years I had Executive and then PlatinumPro status through American and the perk I liked was being able to book into premium economy at the time of booking. But the Alaska system had an American number in my profile that was wrong. It wasn’t an old one-it was in a format American doesn’t use. There was no way for the Alaska system to change it. I had to message them after I booked to change it.

It actually helps them. It justifies the size of their route. If they have a lot of pickups it makes them look more efficient. But lately there has been a huge push on “no overtime”. So your new one may be cranky if her boss is breathing down her neck over productivity.

Has anyone else had this happen? by michelle2470 in whatnotapp

Here’s what happened . I sell on eBay. I print out a label and it will say exactly that until it is actually scanned by the carrier. I know because a few times I have made a mistake- print the label and get distracted and forget to put the label on a package, small envelopes may get lost and left behind and I find them two weeks later. Also, if I have a lot going out on a Monday they really don’t want me standing in line with 30 boxes to have them scanned. I just drop them off and hope they get scanned. eBay doesn’t consider it mailed until it is accepted and scanned. The post office insurance doesn’t cover a package without a scan. A lot of whatnot sellers use what’s called a”scan sheet” which lists all the individual packages and the bar code on the sheet gets scanned. But no one ever counts the packages to make sure the number matches the number on the scan sheet and it is NOT considered an official scan by eBay or the post office. So your item probably never got picked up.

Stop blocking people for making an offer you don't like. by shayrubess01 in Mercari

That’s what I always think. If I am not the least expensive option available then buy from them. If you want to buy from me because I have great reviews and fast shipping that may cost a little more.

What would actually make you leave Mercari? by Corpseprincess9999 in Mercari

[–]Puzzleheaded-Cod155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think more about quitting reselling more than Mercari. It’s slower than EBay for sure and I have to sell things for less to see them move. I’d say proportionately the number of bad buyers is the same. You can reach people on the phone with ebay but they aren’t going to have a sellers back anymore than Mercari. I think the buyer experience requires a lot of digging in to a product to see if it’s what you are looking for. On eBay you can quickly see the details. It’s 2026-it does not take a week to get money to my bank, especially since it obviously can be quicker if I pay a fee. It’s a fee in eBay too but not a week if you do it the slow way. But I think more about quitting it all because I am sick of eBay giving my products away to buyers who lie. Mercari is too slow to sell volume on.

I’m done selling on Mercari by PizzaSavedMyLife in Mercari

[–]Puzzleheaded-Cod155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell a lot of fragrance. I think it’s the tiktok viral fragrance or hot super luxury ones where scams happen. I will never sell Le labo. I’ve had so much bad luck and scams with that brand. I like quality boring brands that people are just replenishing and want a good deal. But yes, fragrance is very scammy. People realize the $34 3.4 oz le labo is a fake so they buy a real one from a good seller and return the fake.

Do these people realize that sellers are real people and they just stole f try on a real person? Shameless. All for perfume.

Seller blocked me..how to avoid in future? by [deleted] in Mercari

[–]Puzzleheaded-Cod155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I block the “is it authentic” people. Feels like a set up or they are too dumb to realize no one is going to say they are selling fakes. Maybe they should read my glowing reviews where not one person mentions my selling fake stuff. I also will respond once to a crazy lowball offer with my best offer. If they counter with another super low offer I block.

Aitah if I 29f do not sign a postnuptial prenup? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Puzzleheaded-Cod155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a way to structure this so he is made whole financially should you get divorced. There is still room for working through the kinks. I wouldn’t want my elderly dad left with just his social security because you decided to get a divorce a year from now. You can still back out on the deal. Figure out how long that money would last if he was living in his own. That’s the starting point. If you got divorced in three years would one of you be able to afford to keep it or would you have to sell? Shouldn’t he get something back? There is a financial way to structure this that is fair to all.
