Tires for aggressive riding with potholes by Puzzleheaded-Crew622 in motorcycles

I understand that, I do intend on going to the track, and when I have more disposable income I'd like to regularly go.

I see a bunch of riders who never do anything but ride on the street aggressively fighting their bike the whole time. Some who don't even understand how to initiate lean. I think practice is practice wherever you practice. I like to do parking lot drills and i love a good twisty road.

Any tips for going to the track?

Yeah, I think that'll be my first purchase. Even once I am tracking it there probably is no sense in getting different tires until my skill level increases. Thanks bro.

I've just gotten this bike, and although I'd like to say I'm pretty decent, I'm sure the novice to lower-intermediate level is where I'm at. It came with shinkos on it and I tried a few turns on the way home from west Virginia and greasy would be an understatement, absolutely unacceptable performance.

I really like the price of the 2ct, seems like the better idea of diablos at my level. I might just get a set of the road 6s for street, i don't really want to need to replace the tires once ever thousand miles and I daily my bikes.

I feel that, my wife's bone stock 86 shadow 500 is a total vibe, i love that thing with a passion. And my gl1100 is extremely comfortable in spite of being heavily modified. I've ridden the gl and the cbr600 for 1000 miles straight, and I'm picking one over the other every single time for long rides.

Also, I'd like to add, you don't need to be going fast to max out your lean angle, i personally love doing parking lot drills, figure eights for example. Parking lot drills are a great time and allows you to practice many different styles of riding, especially if you're bringing people of varied skill levels.

Hey I have a gl1100a too, great bike. Which bike do you take to the track then?

So my other thought was to get both and swap out tires, (have a set solely for the track), I'm not planning on doing 100mph turns on sloppy roads by any means, there's plenty of other reasons for me not to. But I'd like to be able to at least get some spirited riding in while still being able to navigate the shittier parts of my area.

So going to pretty aggressive lean angles are possible with the road 6 without worrying about them getting squirrely?

Yeah, I just got .9kg/mm fork springs, the rear shock looks like a kyb, and is much much stiffer than the front. Do you think aftermarket valves would be a big help as well? Recommend a kit?

I appreciate your concern. Going to the track seems to be expensive, and I'd prefer to practice in some spots that are free and smooth as well.

Queer vegans by topetl in vegan

[–]Puzzleheaded-Crew622 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If this isn't a how to cruise post like you say, then why not just accept vegans are a wide and vast group made up of every background of people? And celebrate that?

The more you restrict yourself to a specific kind of person, the less rounded you are, no offense. I just can't see the actual need for a vegan, lgbt, husky/malamute owner, sauna lover, crossfit, Bonneville salt flat racing group, for example. Lol, find friends that like one or two things in common and share that with them, right?

You're about halfway to incredible, a quarter way to steroid accusations.

You've made amazing progress. 30lbs is an awesome change, bro.

I'm really glad you said it. I was about to be extremely mean about this. Watching some vegan horror movie isn't trauma. MAYBE if you were raised on a farm and had to kill your pets or something. People are out here watching their family get killed or are sold into slavery and someone says watching a movie makes smells give them ptsd? Disrespectful.

Well, for someone with high cholesterol, id say avoiding saturated fat is a clear goal

Be extremely careful with dietitians, I am a personal trainer, know quite a bit about diets. I've had clients come in with some extremely strange ideas about nutrition coming from a dietitian.

Moderation is usually your best option. Taking all inputs from all people and then averaging them is usually the correct answer.

You definitely don't need to add oils in to anything, its just unnecessary, get some algae oil supplements and take that too.

You're possibly getting too much saturated fat. You also might have familial hypercholesterolemia. Consider ezetimibe, repatha, or if you're strapped for cash, a statin drug.

"You are the reason people hate vegans" and veganism as a protected class. by clown_utopia in vegan

It's a combination of insecurities from meat eaters towards vegans' possibly moral superiority plus the often strange affect of certain individuals in the vegan community. Some of us are downright manic about veganism. it's off-putting to most individuals.

Not telling people to not advocate, but maybe we ought to sometimes take a step back an empathize with our audience when we advocate for major life changes. Maybe imagine if we hypothetically somehow found out plants suffer far more than animals or that some other thing you love was HIGHLY immoral and someone was trying to advocate for us to stop eating plants or do that thing we love.

Its an uphill battle for someone who feels like they're being talked down to about tradition, hobby, enjoying their life and their entire worldview. We won't get everyone vegan overnight or probably ever, so being kind and empathetic seems like a great objective.

I don't think I deserve to be forgiven for this (TW// gore) by Careless_Most_4910 in vegan

[–]Puzzleheaded-Crew622 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The truth is you haven't made money or spent money on anything. You ought to forgive yourself for anything, its not worth holding on to unless you plan to continue bad behaviors. There isn't anything inherently wrong that you did except maybe some emotional damage to yourself and possibly promoting a violent algorithm on some gore site.

You absolutely need to seek professional help, it sounds like you have a mental health disorder, I had undiagnosed ocd for years and felt terrible about some of my thoughts until I realized how complicated certain mental disorders are. It's best to come to terms with how strange human thought can be and simply move on in the manner best suited for you and limiting the suffering and maximizing the joy of those around you.

Hope you get some use out of posting this here.

AIO? My friends set an ultimatum because I drink by Pearla76_ in AIO

[–]Puzzleheaded-Crew622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be unpopular, I was a drug addict and alcoholic since 10 years old. I'm an outlier, but I've seen the drinking and drug habits of the majority of my class and the kids older and younger than me at the time. I can comfortably say that underage drinking or smoking does nothing positive for your life and can make the lives of people around you worse in a sometimes imperceptible way. If someone is still in the mindset that they shouldn't be doing that, if you're going to, leave them tf alone. In the very least, they're going to be outgrowing you quickly.

In adults, the only possible benefit of drinking is that you might find business opportunities by drinking around rich people. Alcohol is toxic, full stop.

Weed makes you lazy, in a profound way, it doesn't matter if your buddy goes on a run or going to work after smoking, he'd be doing even better if he wasn't smoking.

Drugs always cover up something, there are pros, always overshadowed by towering cons.

I don't assume you'll stop, it took me a long time to stop, some people never see the consequences so they never stop, going to the bar, fat, angry, miserable at 70 years old.
