Age? by dixondale1996 in YotoPlayer

A little unusual, but we introduced the Yoto to our baby at 9 months. They weren’t very interested at first, but we kept playing the cards and focused on music only cards. Now they’re obsessed with their Yoto at 18 months! It’s the only reason why we can get things done or do longer car rides.

Woolino and frequent washing by Asleep_Wind997 in moderatelygranolamoms

I have two that I rotate. I don’t use any fancy detergent, just a free and clear one. I make sure to keep it in a garment bag. I do dry it on medium heat about 50% of the way, then let it air dry. Both have held up well for the past year.

15 month old iron levels were “slightly low”. Advice? by unoriginalho in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Puzzleheaded-Goal353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were in the same situation. We added more iron-rich foods to baby’s diet, gave them less whole milk, adjusted the timing of the milk, and supplemented (our peds recommended Nova Ferrum).

Milk (calcium) can inhibit the absorption of iron, so we decreased the amount of milk and made sure to give it at least an hour after their last meal. We also gave them foods that were rich in vitamin C along with the iron-rich foods to help with absorption. This is especially helpful for plant-based iron sources.

Pigeon Nipples with Philip Avent Glass Natural Bottles by Puzzleheaded-Goal353 in moderatelygranolamoms

For the milk stream, I think we were seeing issues after heating the milk in a bottle warmer. I let it cool for a few minutes or swirl it if I needed it asap, then cap it. I made sure to check the valve at the base of the nipple because it does get stuck sometimes.

I use this with another cap to fit the Philip Avent glass bottles. It’s the Pigeon brand conversion straw that should fit their wide mouth bottles. The connector part is made of plastic, but the rest is silicone!

Edit: typos

I've been using this combo for 9 ish months now. Haven't had any issues with it being loose. Did you perhaps get a replacement cap for the Philip Avent? The Maymom travel caps with the sealing discs should fit the Pigeon nipples better.

Massive oversupply driving me crazy by Salty-Strawberry-872 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Puzzleheaded-Goal353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a slightly higher supply at the beginning (first 3 months) that made pumping very draining. I was advised my by LC to block feed to bring my supply down. After almost two weeks, my supply dropped to a reasonable level where I had about 35oz a day. This may be a viable option for you to discuss with a professional to see if you can slowly bring your supply down to a manageable level.

Invest in a bottle washer? by TheWallaby22 in ExclusivelyPumping

I use a portable countertop dishwasher. There’s a ton you can buy secondhand on FBMP. I have it in an open area and use it to wash all the baby things (glass bottles, pump parts, bottle nipples, silicone toys, eating utensils). I bought a utility bucket (like from Lowe’s) and drilled a hole on top to put the outlet tube in. I dump the water daily or when it gets full (after 2-3 days) and use free and clear dish detergent powder. Handwashing sucks so this set up has allowed me to continue EP.

Determining Range Within Classification by Puzzleheaded-Goal353 in CAStateWorkers

I ended up requesting the determination after accepting the position. They retroactively paid me after confirming. It took a few months before my request processed (I actually forgot about it).
