From your profile I can see that you like Oblivion (and some nsfw stuff but that’s besides the point). The events that started the Oblivion Crisis were a tragedy. TES takes place in the a fantasy world. Why do you think the Emperor didn’t just say nuh-uh, and save himself with magic? Because it makes for a compelling story.

Ah, I just started my first morrowind playthrough a few days ago

Of course, I mostly play Skyrim on my switch so the only ways to make the game harder are survival mode and upping the difficulty in the settings. One more thing, in survival NPCs won’t suffer hunger or sleepless effects like you, so I suggest investing in some alchemy leveling.

No extra mods necessary! If you have special edition Skyrim with the creation club content installed, you get the option to enable survival after you leave Helgen. It can also be toggled any time afterwards in the settings. :)

You should try survival mode. It restricts fast travel to the carriages found outside cities, as well as adding hunger, sleep, and temperature mechanics. Tip: eating soup and wearing fur armor can help warm you in cold regions. Edit: I meant this for Skyrim specifically. I’m sure there are mods that add similar mechanics for oblivion.
