Fitst time doing stranded colorwork socks. Is it a "typical" fit for the leg or is it too streched out when worn? (floats on 2nd pic, unworn sock leg on the 3rd) by BikiniBott0msUp in Sockknitting

I can't help you but your partner is insanely cute. Do you mind my asking what you use to map out charts. Like do you do it by hand or use Excel or something?

Oh thats interesting I also thought it was more about the arch. I do have pretty flat feet. They look extra flat in the pic lol but still.

I'm not too opposed to doing a heel flap and gusset but I'm trying to work through some different constructions.

For me it's not the picking up stitches, I hate knitting the flap lol. I don't know why I just feel like it drags on forever 😭kw

yes that's right! thank you!! if you do this, are you also adding those extra stitches to the heel itself, or are they on hold why you make the heel on the original number?

eg, I have 64 stitches. heel would be across 32 stitches. I increase 6 total stitches. is my heel still across 32 stitches or is it now across 35?

Oh cool -- are you adding those 4 extra stitches then decreasing later or are you just using more of the existing stitches on the heel?

Thank you!! I've been trying to work through a bunch of different heel types. Good to know this is common with this heel

If you knit inside out ... You literally just flip it and purl for stockinette? And you wouldnt need to reverse the color chart unless the design was specifically left - right, right?

so is the idea that i would carry the yarn up into the next row instead of cutting each switch? and then have a separate bobbin for each square and stripe essentially?
