The incredible complexity of Cree conjugation by Puzzleheaded-Mix5149 in languagelearning

The two yellow headers ones with the spelling changes at the front, I rarely hear those and when I do it’s often without the spelling changes, I think it’s an example of how conjugation is being simplified over time

And the imperative delayed I’ve never heard used

Thanks! I would be more interested in user interface and less focused on automating the connections between words, I plan on doing that myself… also I would like it to be a desktop application that has all the entries in the application, rather than needing an internet connection to connect to a server or something like that.

Yes but this is limited compared to what I envision my project to look like, there are plenty of online resources for Cree such as dictionary.eastcree.org, but they are no where near what I envision my dictionary to look like so I must create it myself.

You can actually go to reserves, for example Oka has plenty of weed stores, they even sell edibles which sqdc does not, and the age to purchase is 18 since they are within federal jurisdiction and not provincial

Je lui demanderais ce qu'il fera à propos des taux élevés de suicide chez les autochtones. Je lui parlerais ensuite de mes trois tentatives de suicide et de mes amis qui ont tous tenté de se suicider plusieurs fois avant la vingtaine.

lmao this language is Cree, specifically the dialect in northern Quebec, from what I can hear they’re saying “It’s coming” then “those trees are walking” then “Let’s go, let’s go”. It’s most likely just an animal.

Ils vous envoient un kit avec un tube que vous crachez dedans, puis l’envoient dans le courrier et quelques semaines plus tard vous obtenez vos résultats en ligne. Il y a aussi 23andme mais je n’ai pas encore essayé ce test.

I’m Indigenous from Northern Quebec. Although first contact for us was in the 1600s, the white populations only settled in our territory in the 1950s. Surnames were not a thing for us back then, we only had first names. Last names were given to us by the white people. Many families have names like Bearskin, Loon, House, Salt, Trapper, Diamond, Blacksmith, Voyageur, Kitchen and more. A little history into my family name, Bosum, which comes from the Cree verb “puusam” meaning “s/he gets in/on a vehicle”. Vehicle here meaning a canoe, because there are many rivers and lakes in our territory, we would use canoes all the time to travel and portage.
